Lizardfolk Heritage: Frilled Lizardfolk (Threatening Approach)

Silver Crusade

Howdy Pathfinder world!
I'm trying to clarify how the ability "Threatening Approach" works.

(Reference: Lost Omens Character Guide, Page 57)
"THREATENING APPROACH {2 action}: You Stride to be adjacent to a foe and Demoralize that foe. If you succeed, the foe is frightened 2 instead of frightened 1."

Now i would like it work like this...
CRITICAL SUCCESS: frightened 3
SUCCESS: frightened 2

However, I pretty sure it works like this...
CRITICAL SUCCESS: frightened 2
SUCCESS: frightened 2

I am trying to make a Demoralizing Rouge and would appreciate some input. Thanks y'all!

I think it is like a master saving throw.

Roll a dice, if you get a success you get a critical success instead.

Really good.

It doesn't modify any degree of success besides success, so the other ones stay the same as before. So demoralize 2 on crit success.

That's what I thought. If nothing else, im happy for the independent verification.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Heh. Hiss!

Consider snagging that feat that lets you send enemies fleeing on a critcal success. That way your Nat 20s still do something, which I reckon will make you feel better.
