Hi guys,
I am pretty new to playing pathfinder and i have a question about the multitalented racial trait for half-elfs. The rolebook says "Multitalented: Half-elves choose two favored classes at first level and gain +1 hit point or +1 skill point whenever they take a level in either one of those classes." So if i choose ranger and rogue for example, will i get the class features and the class skills of both classes or do i have to choose one class?

You don't have both classes, you have them both as "favored class". The only thing being a favored class grants is that when you take a level in that class, you have the ability to select either +1 skill rank, +1 HP, or a racial bonus depending on the race and class. "Whenever a character gains a level in his favored class, he receives either + 1 hit point or + 1 skill rank." CRB pg. 31, the racial option was added later.
If you only take levels in one class, Multitalented never does anything, period. It only does something if you take actual levels in both classes (multiclassing), and even than it's only a few points of HP or skill ranks.

Well that sucks, but thanks for the help

And even if you do multiclass, you will most likely only be dipping into one of the classes and thus can get slightly better things for giving up the favored class bonus on the 1-2 levels you take in the class you dip in.
Of course, this racial trait does serve as a prerequisite for a feat that lets you count all classes as favored classes, so it might be worth taking for certain planned builds.
