Gaithlain Bard tank : Giantslayer

Advice

Finalizing the build for my martial for giant slayer.

Dervish Dawn Bard

Stats at level 6

Strength 13
Dexterity 21 includes enhancement
Constitution 14 lower speed removes con penalty
Intelligence 10
Wisdom 7
Charisma 16

Feats

Dervish Dawn bonus
Weapon Focus from Bard
1st ?
3rd power attack
5th hurtful
7th pick up Cornugon smash here

Traits: both campaign

One that gives you half of the dwarven defense against giants
One that lets you intimidate giants regardless of size

Take the song at 7th that acts as a short term freedom of movement so I can prevent myself and the rest of the party becoming giant squeeze toys.

The biggest issue at the moment is reach but I will have soundstriker and bladed dash which should hopefully help.

How do you mean?

Also, do you have a question or are you just sharing your build

Questioning whether it would work out. We will be fighting a lot of giants.

Alternative is swashbuckler for same sort of style but without the Bard options.

FYI Yomabo there's a gathlain alternate racial trait which removes their racial con penalty and lowers their speed.

Additional traits might be a decent L1 feat (irrepressible might be useful), or retrain the L1 feat into furious focus or something.

Certainly this could work. Know when to hold and when to fold though.

It's an interesting build although I'm not sure I agree with such low Wisdom. Obviously your GM can allow it but generally you can't take two traits of the same type. Also, where is the Weapon Focus coming from? You get Dervish Dance and proficiency with the scimitar but I didn't see Weapon Focus in either archetype.

You still have Fly but clumsy right? Skill Focus (Fly) might be a decent choice. Somewhere I saw you don't provoke attacks of opportunity when flying?

As an aside, if you go with Swashbuckler or a similar class going with Bladed Brush would give you reach and avoid much of the attacks of opportunity you're likely to face against giants.

avr, Furious Focus only works with a two-handed weapon so that's out unfortunately. Upon reflection (30 seconds since hitting the edit button) the extra benefits from Battle Dance means a switch hitter could be fairly attractive as well.

One of the options for Bards when they pick versatile is proficiency with a weapon or weapon Focus if they are already proficient.
