Soft Cover Books

General Discussion

Are there any plans on the Starfinder books to be coming out in soft cover format like the 1E Pathfinder did? If so, is there a timeline for the release?

None that I've seen. Out of curiosity, why would you want softcover?

More portable.

Liberty's Edge

I want pocket editions.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

If we get soft cover they could do the updates and errata that really needs to be in the books, pretty much all the ship combat dc formulas are wrong and a dozen other things.

I imagine pocket editions won't happen for quite a while. They may be more convenient, yes, but ultimately they do compete with the full sized releases. It'd be silly for Paizo to release them both in close proximity. And while I can see arguments for just doing pocket paperback versions, I can also see arguments against ( harder to read, less durable ).

I appreciate softcover as an option, both in PODs and in traditional printing. They're cheaper than hardcovers but more solid and physical than ebooks, they're likely to be more durably bound than hardcovers, and they're easier to carry around than a hardcover or my computer.
