I checked the description, and I'm afraid a buckler is worn strapped to the forearm; that being the case, I don't think she can drop it. That raises the point of how you strap something to your arm in a single move action, but that's not a discussion to have here and now.
Barlor |
Barlor, feeling hasty again, delivers two quick blows.
superclub: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 - 2 + 1 + 1 = 18, damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 1) + 4 = 11
superclub: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 7 - 2 + 1 + 1 = 8, damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (3, 5) + 4 = 12

Miss Chance >50=HIT: 1d100 ⇒ 28
Not that it mattered this time, but is Barlor using power attack? Because I think his damage would be much higher if he was.
Also, though the map wasn't updated, Togarin moved back so Barlor could only take make one attack.
Barlor's club passes through the displaced image of the necromancer. Laughing, he glares at Ayaki (swift action) and the tengu turns and runs!
Ayaki Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Fear for 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds.
Togarin steps away from Barlor and casts another spell, sending three rays of fire at the dwarf.
Scorching Ray: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Fire Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 1) = 13
Scorching Ray: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Fire Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 6) = 15
Scorching Ray: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Fire Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 1) = 7
Barlor is up!
Ayaki (fear 2 rounds left)
Maddie (fear 1 round left)
All others (fear 8 rounds left)
Barlor |
Barlor moves closer and continues his assault.
club: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 - 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 13, damage: 2d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5, 4) + 4 + 1 = 14
club: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 7 - 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 14, damage: 2d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6, 2) + 4 + 1 = 13
Assuming prayer and haste are still active. Assuming bless is not. Assuming shaken still. 3 rounds left on shillelagh by my count.

Barlor's club glances off Togarin's magical protections, but lands solid on a quick backswing.
Showing his wounds a little more, the necromancer glares at Barlor with his magical gaze and casts another spell. He reaches out with a hand pulsating with blood red tendrils, but Barlor is too quick and dodges back avoiding it.
Swift action for eyebite - Barlor needs to make a Will save vs DC 23 or be panicked for 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds and sickened for 110 minutes.
Concentration: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28 success
Touch Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Barlor is up! (Will save needed)
Maddie is up!
Ayaki (fear 1 round left)
All others (fear 7 rounds left)
Barlor |
Ha! Boom baby!
"Yarn't so scary as ya think, Tor Gan!" Barlor mocks as he clubs at lightning speed.
club: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 17, damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2) + 4 = 7

Very nice, Barlor!
Finally coming to her senses, but feeling like she wants to puke her guts out, Maddie moves as quickly as she can to help destroy Togarin.
How many round of double movement before she returns? Also, how many rounds has been since she cast Silence?
Maddie Sykes |
Returning to the room with haste and her breakfast still intact, Maddie wastes no time pulling out a silver dagger and plunging it into the necromancer's heart to assure he meets with Pharasma's judgment. "Excellent work, Barlor."
László Kovács |
Once László is himself again, he uses his wand to repair some of the damage the ghost cat inflicted before returning to the party. He is still pale and shaking from the damage to his life force.
CLW wand, 43 charges left: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
CLW wand, 42 charges left: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
CLW wand, 41 charges left: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Maddie Sykes |
"Someone should search the necromancer's body." Maddie suggests as she looks over the shaky Laszlo with a critical eye, "You need to rest for a few days, maybe even some magical restoration. I'm afraid the sort of help you need is beyond my capabilities."
Maddie also channels a couple of times to heal those still hurt.
Channel to heal (5/8 remaining): 3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 1) = 6
Channel to heal (4/8 remaining): 3d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 3) = 9
Barlor |
"I don't even know how tah fix what happened to you." Barlor admits, shaking his head. "We'd better git you to town soon, find us a right proper priest."
He pauses for a moment, looking in his hat and scratching at something. "Er, uh, sorry Maddie."
DM Rah |
Found on Togarin's body and within the chambers he resided are the following treasures:
A robe of bones, amulet of natural armor +1, belt of mighty constitution +2, cloak of resistance +2, goggles of night , headband of vast intelligence +2, bracers of armor +2, +2 breastplate, and a belt of giant’s strength +2, and his spellbook.
Togarin's Spellbook
6th - create undead, eyebite
5th - baleful polymorph, magic jar, teleport, waves of fatigue
4th - animate dead, enervation, fear, solid fog, wall of fire
3rd - blink, fireball, fly, ray of exhaustion, vampiric touch
2nd - blindness/deafness, false life, resist energy, see invisibility, scare, scorching ray
1st - alarm, burning hands, cause fear, detect undead, expeditious retreat, mage armor, magic missile
Now you only have one or two things left. Dealing with Daegros and/or the Time Lock. What's the plan?
DM Rah |
Ayaki has two negative levels as well.
Information on negative levels:
Negative levels remain until 24 hours have passed or until they are removed with a spell, such as restoration . If a negative level is not removed before 24 hours have passed, the affected creature must attempt a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 draining creature's racial HD + draining creature's Cha modifier; the exact DC is given in the creature's descriptive text). On a success, the negative level goes away with no harm to the creature. On a failure, the negative level becomes permanent. A separate saving throw is required for each negative level.
(the DC to remove these negative levels is 18.)
Barlor |
Indeed. I think it best to either:
1) Go back to town now (since we don't seem to be in a hurry) and get them fixed up
2) Finish before 24 hours and then get Lazslo patched up pronto (leaving us short a person until that time)

Since there doesn't seem to be a time limit, let's get everyone fixed up and the spellcasters can refresh/add to their abilities.
DM Rah |
Having decided to return to the town above and seek magical healing, the group gathers and begins to make their way out of the Sanctum. However, waiting in the audience chamber near the entrance is Daegros, accompanied by a large woman in a robe with stitches encircling her head and neck.
"It appears you have dealt with Togarin and lived to tell the tale." Daegros says with a small bow. "Congratulations. Let us talk about what will happen next."
Pai Kromnite PFS |
Uh oh!
"To be honest, I don't think we have thought about what comes next. We were going back to town to report our findings, and then decide from there. That Togarin was awfully nasty...I bet you are glad he's gone."
DM Rah |
"Yes, Togarin was a threat that needed to be ended." Daegros replies to Pai. At Maddie's words he glances at the stitched woman. "This was once another apprentice trapped here in the Sanctum. Her name was Vuzhon. She managed to escape in the body of a man named Rozimus that came to this place before you, but was forced to leave her true body behind. I... repurposed it. There is a gem still in my possession that holds the soul of Rozimus, and if Vuzhon was somehow forced or tricked into returning here, I might be able to reverse her magic."
"I considered doing the same," He says, thoughtfully looking at the woman. "But doing so would have left both my body and the Time Lock vulnerable."
Turning to your group, he says "I offered you a deal before. The knowledge of this place paid for with an alliance to protect the Time Lock and your service as a link to the world outside. Does our deal stand?"
Barlor |
Barlor looks to Pai and nods slightly, fairly sure that this is indeed the plan, but also a bit confused by all the arcane goings-on.

Pai Kromnite PFS |
I don't remember. What does the service as a link to the outside consist of again? Do we need to try to get Rozimus/Vuzhon back down here?
Maddie Sykes |
"May we examine the time lock first before we make our decision?" Maddie asks in a calm, pleasant voice.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
DM Rah |
Pai, he's asking that you give him updates on the world outside in trade for access to the library and magical knowledge contained in the Sanctum. Also, you suspect that Togarin's Spellbook might not survive leaving the Sanctum if the theory on time-delay is true.
"I will show you the Time Lock, but only on your word that you will not interfere with it."
