I really would love to see the envoy of balance be added. One of my favorite if not favorite PrC. More specifically the concept of twin channeling. The ability to heal allies and harm enemies at the same time. Any thoughts on this? How it would be done?

Heal/harm already does that by default. They both heal and dmg living/undead in it's 3 action version....at the same time.

I believe Micheal is referring to the ability to channel both positive and negative energy simultaneously, as spelled out in the Twinned Channeling ability:

Twinned Channeling wrote:

When channeling energy, the envoy of balance can simultaneously release waves of positive and negative energy. She chooses a category of creatures (either living or undead), and this conjoined energy both heals and harms the affected creatures. Roll the amounts of damage healed and dealt separately. Treat the envoy of balance’s effective cleric level as 2 lower than normal for the amounts of damage and the DC to halve damage taken. The envoy of balance can choose whether to include herself in either or both the healing and harming effects. If she has an ability that allows her to exclude targets from her channeled energy, such as the Selective Channel feat, she can choose to exclude different targets from the healing effect than from the harming effect. An envoy of balance must possess the spiritual equilibrium endowment to choose this endowment.

Heal's 3-action version would heal the living and harm the undead at the same time, whereas this ability would heal the living and harm the living at the same time. However, it's important to note that unless you used Selective Channeling to exclude your allies, the harm effect would hit them as well, effectively negating some or all of the healing, and the same for the healing effect. The Selective Energy cleric feat doesn't require an action to use, which would make it apply, but based on the new action economy, I think the Envoy of Balance Prestige Archetype (since that's what the old Prestige Classes are becoming) would require quite enough of a rework that it would be very different in the end than the PF1 version was.

I really would like to see the twin channeling feature. That was my favorite part of the EoB PrC. I don't know if this would be better off as a feat. Because another thing the EoB did was treat your versatile channel as the same level instead of level - 2. Now the 2E version of this just allows you to cast either Heal or Harm (Assuming your deity allows it). So some of the abilities are automatically given.

Focus Spell: (A feat gives access to it)
Prerequisite: Versatile Font, Selective Energy
Level 8 (or around this level)
3 Actions
It allows you to cast both Heal and Harm as appropriate for your level.

Not sure if in this system this would be too powerful. I know in 1E you didn't spend multiple uses of channeling, to my knowledge.

A focus point to simultaneously cast both bursts, still paying both slots, is strong. But I don't think it's broken. Perhaps it would need to nerf the spell level of the channels.

I don't know that you need Selective Energy as a prerequisite, just as a means of avoiding smacking your allies at the same time.

Perhaps something like this would be more appropriate:

Twinned Font - Level 8 Cleric Feat
Prerequisite: Versatile Font
You can channel to both heal and harm at the same time. You gain the twinned Font Focus Spell.

Twinned Font - Focus 8
1-3 Actions - focus, somatic, verbal
Expend 1 use of divine font to simultaneously cast heal and harm, with an area of effect equal to the number of actions spent to use this focus power.

This Focus power would expend both the focus point and a use of divine font - which isn't how focus powers usually work, but might balance things out. My concern with making it a Focus point cost only would be making what is, with 10 minutes of rest, an unlimited daily use divine font.

By making the actions variable, you also technically allow this to be used as part of the single action and two-action versions of divine font - although the use of such would be rather limited, I grant you.

Casting both spells for one font slot is far too strong.

That's similar to how the Twinned Channeling ability worked. This idea also costs a Focus Point, since it's a Focus Power. Thus, the full cost is one Focus Point AND one use of Divine Font. You're essentially spending the Focus Point to cast both at the same time.

Further Explanation, if interested:

In PF1, the Twinned Channeling ability had you specify living or undead, and then would both harm and heal whichever was chosen at the same time. That's because PF1's Channel Energy had you specify whether you were affecting living or undead creatures.

That distinction is now gone, as heal and harm affect all creatures in the radius, regardless of whether or not they are living or undead. In order to replicate the ability, the Focus Power needs to cast both versions at the same time. Otherwise, it does nothing different than using divine font, and there is no purpose to the ability beyond wasting page space that could be used for an ability that is actually useful.

Of course, the price could be upped to be a Focus Point and TWO uses of Divine Font, but the highest possible Charisma you can have at level 8 is 19, which means you have a total of five uses per day. It may be difficult to pay the price for that.

Now, I did notice that, based on another look at the prestige class, the earliest you could actually get that ability would be level 9, which means it would probably be better balanced as a Level 10 feat instead of Level 8.
