Questions about Arcane Exemplar the Omdura archtype

Rules Questions

So the new class is a divine caster, which normally don't incurs arcane spell failure from armor. But what about the Arcane Exemplar archtype where they use Magus spells instead? Can they still wear medium armor?

I don’t think Exemplar is Divine. So yes, arcane spell failure as normal in medium armor.

An arcane exemplar casts arcane spells

Thank you for the response. I just feel it's weird to be a divine spell caster that can wear medium then archetype as part of a class that wears medium armor as an arcane caster that doesn't suffer spell failure from medium at later levels to all of a sudden suffer it. It's a weird transfer.

Didn't understand the last part of your sentence but I'm not sure if they do suffer arcane spell failure. They either can't wear any armor, which arguably makes them even squishier than an Eldritch Scoundrel Rogue, or they can cast in medium without penalty because there is no mention of spell failure in the text for the Exemplar.

Arcane spell failure is a general rule that applies to all arcane spellcasting unless a specific ability overrides it. The remaining question is whether casting "as a magus of her level" was intended to smuggle in the magus's exception to arcane spell failure. That probably won't get answered officially unless one of the supplement's writers is nice enough to chime in.

Questioner investigator has the same problem.

Normally bard don't get arcane spell check failure. Maybe Paizo is hinting with the class spell list that they can? Somethings in pathfinder is very clear. Somethings are weirdly questionable. I'll ask my GM if I can wear medium for the archetype I'm playing. Thank you for you guys' time.

I guess amusingly the link you gave me has so many hedges that it's still not a matter of "general trumps specific."

And finally was able to parse Arkken's sentence. Was reading "at later levels to all of a sudden suffer it. Rather than "arcane caster that doesn't suffer spell failure from medium at later levels."
