Hi,
I was thinking about interesting cleric ideas and I started to imagine a good cleric that praises only capitalism. He would be your casual friendly priest, but he would spend lots of his time talking about how great money is, trading items, praising competitive markets and philosophising about the economy. He would avoid ripping off people, but still consider haggling an important concept.

I would like some suggestions on how to build it.
I want to buff the skills that matters for a great economist. Appraise, bluff, diplomacy, senses motive, maybe profession something.
Please, send me anything you believe would do great for the theme of the character.

ABADAR, god of banks (Pathfinder core deity).

I'd suggest going with either the cardinal or cloistered cleric archetypes, since they get more skill points, and have more relevent class skills. Or maybe an inquisitor or some kind.

Abadar is the most obvious choice, being the god of banks, trade, and civilization. Asmodeus, god of contracts, is also a reasonable choice, for a more ruthless "What I'm doing might be bad for society, but it's not illegal (because I lobbied to change the laws.)" type of capitalist. I suppose it depends on how cynical your own view of capitalism is.

Figures.

Cant you worship the Kalistocracy of Durma?

The OG prophets for profits?

Amazing!
No matter what alignement my party wants to be, I will be safe.
Good Abadar, Neutral Asmodeus with the trait, evil Asmodeus.

Also, seing all of you talking about the concept of capitalism makes me think of all the possible adventures that might happen in the campaign.

Erastil also has a trade area of concern but tends to be more agrarian.

Torag and Cayden Cailean are near misses with their focuses on Artifice and Freedom respectfully.

If you are considering any divine; an oracle what sells their services to different churches is an idea to explore.

Andoran priest of Abadar idea has a lot of potential. Check out the Andoran spirit of liberty book for details on their banking system and how their loans support the economy.

The intention wasn't to prove an absolute point, merely this, a lawful evil person can persue trade and wealth as can a Lawful Neutral one. Billionaires can do far more evil than your local shop-keeper.

More accurately, billionaires can do more anything than your average shopkeeper, good, evil, law, chaos, balance, drugs, charity, whatever.

The pursuit of wealth is not an aligned action, the methods to do so, and uses of it can be.
