Pathfinder 2E. Half-races (other than elf / orc)

Pathfinder Society

Howdy. I am hoping this is the right place for this! Brand new to the society section of the website/paizo and such. Didn't see a more a pproriate place and it seems like other questions have been asked in this area.

So in both half elf and half orc have a section about being half anything else.
Such as being human-goblin (possibly also elf-dwarf and such?)

"Other Halves
By default, half-elves and half-orcs descend from humans, but your GM might allow you to be the offspring of an elf, orc, or different ancestry. In these cases, the GM will let you select the half-elf or half-orc heritage as the heritage for this other ancestry. The most likely other parent of a half-elf are gnomes and halflings, and the most likely parents of a half-orc are goblins, halflings, and dwarves."

For Society play... Are you allowed to actually be one of the other combinations?

Such as a Human-Goblin.?
Or is this one of those things that are in core-(which I thought all of society was okay with currently) that isn't PFS okay? Or is this one of those Boon situations of some sort?

Or can I just have my cute lil half goblin whose mother is the cook at a library temple he grew up at.

well usually things that need direct GM approval are a no go, and Human Goblin isn't a thing at all.

Lantern Lodge

My reading of the 'other halves' section suggests that with GM approval one could play a half elf who was an elf/gnome or elf/halfling offspring, or a half Orc that was an orc/goblin offspring, etc. I think these combos are unlikely in PFS unless some future product fleshes them out in greater detail. It would be an interesting option for an orc/goblin hybrid to forfeit access to human ancestry feats in exchange for goblin feats.

Silver Crusade 5/5 ⦵⦵ Venture-Captain, Germany—Bavaria

We had an assumption that the other half of various "half-races" was human so I would suggest not to get to attached to the idea, though it might be a good use for an unlockable race boon.

Sovereign Court 4/5 Venture-Lieutenant, Netherlands—Leiden aka Ascalaphus

Stuff that requires "bespoke" GM permission is normally not available in PFS. The supreme GM in those cases is the campaign leadership, not the person facing you at the table.

However, it could definitely be done as a boon, the new system makes that a lot easier to design.

Sadly no half goblin then.

Someone swinging a greataxe hard enough might make a half goblin on a crit, but that sounds really messy.
