With each weekly upgrade, HeroLab Online is becoming more usable. At the moment it is still my go to choice for PFS 2E. I have been playing with Pathbuilder 2e for proof of concept builds.

HeroLab Online was horrible when I started using it, but it's much better now. I kind of hope it succeeds, because although having to pay for it regularly kinda sucks, the benefit is that it means there's at least a small number of people working on improving it every day as their jobs.

I haven't tried Pathbuilder because I don't have an Android phone.

PCGen is "Running out of volunteers" to work on its code, and having looked at the code I can see why.

Does Hero Lab online offer the customization options Classic has, such as adding our own new feats and ancestries or items? Or the GM options like Tactical Console or encounter builder?

There is an emulator for the PC called BlueStacks. I haven't tried it myself yet, but have seen positive comments on Reddit. As well, I believe the author is considering a PC-based program to release via Steam, but no idea as to time frame and such.

No it doesn't. Custom content is on their roadmap, but they have yet to figure out how they want it to go, so it's probably not going to arrive within the next year, probably longer.

You can add almost anything that already exists to any character, however, which lets you cludge together quite a bit.

It works GREAT with bluestacks: I've had 0 issues with anything emulated, Pathbuilder included.

Well, except Pokemon GO. :P

(There's actually an entry in Bluestack's FAQ about why they won't update Bluestacks to support Pokemon GO)

My guess would be that the game requires your device to be mobile and a PC isn't in the same way a phone is so there is little motivation to fix it: I JUST ran into an similar issue with shin megami tensei dx2 and a feature that requires using the camera but it's a minor and easily avoided issue there and I wasn't planning to walk around with my gaming laptop to use it anyway. :P

Oh, you could run PoGO on Bluestacks for a while (albeit I had issues throwing pokeballs, the game would immediately exit when I did so, but I suspect it was some kind of macro in the Bluestacks OS). Its that PoGO does a complex detection scheme to insure that the game is running on a real device with non-spoofed location validation to prevent cheating.

Because PoGO makes these checks, cheaty-players wanted Bluestacks to update so that those checks could be spoofed, and Bluestacks said "No, we're not going to do that."

Its not a technical problem, but a tacit agreement between Niantic and Bluestacks to not allow players to cheat at the game.

Could be? I have no personal experience with that game as I never thought that dragging a laptop around to various locations was a viable plan of action even if it would/could have worked. It really doesn't matter though as this really doesn't have anything to do with how truly awful HLO is or how it's alternatives work on bluestacks.

If you wish to try out TOS 2nd CORE edition, a free DEMO version has been made available.

The DEMO version contains all of these features of TOS 2nd CORE edition up to v1.3.32.

The main highlights of the v1.3.32 build TOS 2nd CORE edition were:
* Allows the (automated) creation of Spell List for any Tradition or spell casting class
* Applied the Core Rulebook Errata v1.0 PDF
* Automatic Adventurer's Pack; Add the content of the Adventurer's Pack to your gear with the click of a button
* Added all the Ritual to the Spell database

You can grab the DEMO version on The Sheet's home page here or on the Paizo store (waiting for the Paizo staff adds it to their store...)

The Only Sheet

The One Sheet: Your product looks cool but with it requiring actual Microsoft Excel to run it's a no go for me. If you ever get it to work with Excel alternatives, I'd seriously think about tossing some cash your way. ;)

I did know about that. But I don't really want to jump through those hoops just to hand the character generation space to this guy.

I wouldn't call it "hoops": you just have to download bluestacks, run it and download pathbuilder through the integrated googlestore. After that, whenever you need to run it you just start bluestacks and click on the icon for the program. If this is "hoops", whatever program you use will require "hoops".

PS: You might not even need to download bluestacks as it might already be there. It was already pre-loaded into my computer before I got it.

Ah, ok. For some reason I got the impression that you had to rip the APK; I didn't know bluestacks was trust enough to download directly from Google.

Still not too keen on pushing the monopoly though!

Nope. While you CAN sideload APK's to bluestacks, it's not required.
