Redeemers of Nethys: Possible?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

First of all, I don't have the 2E book, so I don't know if it's explicitly forbidden. But given how there's an NG paladin (or more accurately, a paladin is the Lawful iteration of a Good class of holy knights in big armor), but I love off-beat characters, and given how Old Two-Face still has NG as an allowed alignment going by his Archives, I was wondering if he might have some decidedly more martial goody-two-shoes followers.

And if so, how they'd function in daily life going by how his personal tenets are "if magic, then use."

He has NG allowed as an Alignment so technically yes.

I could see them functioning as teachers and spreaders of magic, wanting to enrich the world by getting more magic out there.

Also, I bet they wrest secret knowledge from ne'er-do-wells.

Nethys has 2 different aspects: the protective and the destructive halves. I suppose a redeemer of Nethys would focus on the former.

I imagine it's still relatively rare to see a redeemer of Nethys compared to redeemers of good aligned deities.

Those dead magic areas near Alkenstar must be the sort of thing that really grinds a Redeemer of Nethys' gears.

Protecting spellcasters (and societies / organizations of same, such as the Arcanamirium, or Magaambyan Academy, or Arclords, in particular, but perhaps even the Ciphermages or Korvosan Academy students and staff and grounds) would seem a logical outgrowth for such a group, functioning similar to the Warders of the Aes Sedai, from the Wheel of Time books.

Well...this make Nethys a LOT more interesting to me now!

Hmm... Speculative until we have the archetype, but Redeemer of Nethys into Magaambyan Magic Warrior seems intriguing ^^

Created a redeemer of Nethys in Hero Labs. Looks interesting.

A NG follower of Nethys (champion, cleric, wizard, or otherwise) could see magic as a transcendent force for good. Literally use magic to make the world a better place. The enlightenment-seeking, benevolent side of irl Hermeticism fits a similar theme (also the protection/destruction is from the Hermetic concept of solve et coagula: dissolve and reform)

Isn’t the anathema kind of a problem for a champion of Nethys? Magic over mundane.

Not to mention Champion as a multiclass archetype synergizes VERY well with any caster looking for a little more OOMPH in the martial department! ELDRITCH KNIGHTS HOOOOO!!!

Those know-nothing bumpkins? Why?

I am following this with much interest.

This class has focus spells. Blade ally gives magic to a mundane item, while Shield Ally has a spirit helping. I would think the class enough counts as magical.

Really looking to try this with Staff Acrobat in Extinction Curse.

One of the interesting things about a redeemer of Nethys is that you can put them up against a desecrator of Nethys, and not have it cause a problem with the deity in question.

A Redeemer of Nethys is a great fit for a "free archetype" game (like the Strength of Thousands AP) since you can grab spells with an archetype and still have your champion feats for champion stuff.
