If I'm going to use it as a screen, landscape.
If I'm just going to use it as a reference document, portrait.
Odds are I won't be using it as either though, gaming primarily through my laptop.
However, since HeroLab is going online & subscription only, I might roll back to analog.

Thanks for the input! Looks like landscape may be the way to go.

Be aware that we are getting an advanced screen early next year.
Pathfinder Advanced GM Screen (P2)
(slated for February release, but could also come out in January alongside the Gamemastery Guide)There can be a lot to keep track of while running a thrilling game of Pathfinder, but the right GM screen can make all the difference. This four-panel horizontal screen has a lavish illustration on one side and a wealth of useful charts and tables on the other, referencing a number of the advanced rules systems first presented in the Pathfinder Gamemastery Guide. This screen will help keep your secret notes and maps hidden from players, while making your job as GM simpler than ever!
So it's a screen containing the extra/alternative rules from the Gamemastery Guide.

I have the portrait one for PF1 and it is too high for me to see over easily and I'm not a short person. I think landscape will work better as an actual screen.
The struggle is real!
I might have even had difficulties with an old landscape one so there is no way I will get a portrait one

I prefer landscape, they are shorter and there is less ambient shadow thrown on the interior of the screen from where the light is usually situated for me.

I'm waiting for the advanced one so I can have all those tasty tasty extra rules. My players love customizing things so i'm sure it will come in handy

That's what gets called "Advanced" these days? I was expecting something along the lines of Kenzer & Co.'s Hackmaster and Kingdoms of Kalamar GM shields, which were essentially books in the form of screens. They were effin' crazy.
