Lol. Magic duct tape. I love that one Kahnya!

So for me, the major take ways:

GORR THF FING God Butcher is back and it might mean he'll bring MORE multiverse/time stream shenanigans with him. Also him being voice (I'm assuming Bale won't be in a makeup or prosthetics), by Batman, very cool.

I'm TOTALLY stoked that we'll get Ms America, the best version, and one that will totally be true to the character. (Go Go Doctor Strange and punching holes into reality!) ;)

But yes the casting news on the movies is great.

Also I totally loved the trailer for Loki and the appearance of the TVA will be pretty sweet too. (Plus you know, Vote Loki being MCU cannon...)

The Tennessee Valley Authority is going to be in a movie?

Mind went to the same place as well.

Why do you think the TVA was really formed? To promote economic development for the Tennessee Valley region after the Great Depression?

Ha ha, nope!

(Unless that's what Loki is actually about, in which case this joke is ruined.)

*sighs* TEMPORAL VARIANCE AUTHORITY....Tennessee had nothing to do with it...

Andostre,

I give you an A for effort but D- in execution...

Well, Authority was correct . . . 1 out of 3 ain't bad and all that.

...Some times I wonder about you guys...

Marvel's 'Moon Knight': May Calamawy Joins Oscar Isaac in Disney+ Series

I'm guessing she's for the role of Marlene. The only other "key" female role I can think of would be one she's probably too young for.

Yeah I agree A-zombie, there's no way she's playing Marc's daughter. So Marlene makes more sense.

Having a brainstorm with some friends about how the hell the LOKI TV show is going to work, since we're dealing with still-actually-evil Loki from THE AVENGERS, and had an interesting thought (note, not based on actual spoilers but it seems like a strong enough notion that it could be what they're going with):

Spoiler:
So I must admit I felt a bit disappointed that ENDGAME pulled the "KIA character comes back from the dead via an alternate timeline version" twice, first with Loki and then Gamora. It feels like it cheapens their deaths in INFINITY WAR. Sure, Tony, Black Widow, Vision, Heimdall etc are still all dead, but it feels like a bit of a cheat.

Then I was thinking about the Ancient One's warning (via 3D magic PowerPoint) in ENDGAME that removing any of the Stones from any timeline will cause that timeline to be eventually be destroyed with the loss of all life in that timeline, whilst returning the Stone to the precise moment it was removed will cause it to collapse back into the main timeline.

As of the end of ENDGAME all the Stones have been returned apart from the 2012 Space Stone, which is MIA with Loki. So how's these apples? The TVA returns the Space Stone to the 2012 timeline, but that timeline is still in danger unless they also return Loki. But they need him to do stuff for them.

So in the Loki mini-series, he does all these jobs and whatever for them and grows as a person and becomes at least less evil and more neutral. And at the end he also has to be returned to the precise moment he was taken from the 2012 timeline. And that timeline collapses back into the main one, and Loki goes off to prison on Asgard. And then DARK WORLD and RAGNAROK happen and Loki gets killed by Thanos.

In other words, this isn't an alternate Loki at all, but a past Loki from between THE AVENGERS and DARK WORLD. And he had to keep quiet about whatever knowledge of the future he picked up. And he is completely 100% doomed to die no matter what happens.

Not sure Marvel will go with that - there's a few other directions they can go in, but it feels like a possibility.

Uhm not sure that's how that's going to work Wert...but MAYBE?? I dunno.

Looks like another Disney+ MCU show has been announced, set in Wakanda.

Sweet! I hope this mean we might see something like Agents of Wakanda with maybe something like Gorilla Man, Manifold and/or Gentle.

I'm guessing by the time Black Panther 2 is out, we'll have a decent idea what the TV show will be about.

Wait, Isn't Gorilla Man M'Baku?

Phillip,

No, M'Baku (in the comics) is Man-Ape. Gorilla Man is Ken Hale, a man that killed a magic Gorilla and is now permanently that and immortal.

I believe they've said that terms like "Man-Ape" and "Gorilla Man" would not be used because of racial connotations, but the characters could certainly appear under other names (or just their own names).

Fair enough. But the point is, Gorilla man is formerly a white guy who became an talking Gorilla.

Last night I watched Blade II for the first time in years (on HBO MAX, which I thought was weird). Having recently also read the newest issue of Wolverine (with him fighting the Vampire Nation), I now really want to see Blade and Wolverine team up on screen to fight Dracula.

Russell Crowe says he's playing Zeus in Thor: Love and Thunder

I wasn't collecting a lot from Marvel back when Jane was Thor (for the same reason I'm hardly collecting any DC these days), so I don't know if the Greek Gods appeared in any of those stories. Still, I find this news...intriguing.

A-zombie,

No the Greek Gods were pretty much chilling away from humanity before they got slaughtered by Nyx. So this is a MAJOR development. Now admittedly since Gorr is the villain, it might be we get to see the Greek Gods before Gorr goes ape crap over them. Or maybe Zeus survives. We'll see.

Interestingly enough Blade is now kind of UN Sheriff towards the nascent Vampire Nation. So maybe he and Wolverine might do a team up.

Liberty's Edge

See you at the movies.

Some unseen footage.

Mostly the fact we see something of the Eternals for a few seconds. I was hoping this might mean we'd get an actual trailer. But meh. What's REALLY cool to me is BP 2 is now BP : Wakanda Forever. Which I think is all KINDS of awesome. That and CM 2 is now The Marvels.

Don't forget Hercules was a major, long-time Avenger. So, maybe we'll see him in the future, even if Russel Crowe doesn't survive Christian Bale... ;)

PDK,

Yes there's certainly that possibility.

With the release of a teaser trailer for Eternals, I've been speculating on where the MCU is being taken for the NEXT BIG STORY ARC.

Over in WandaVision, they have the Darkhold being brought into the MCU (I don't count Agents of SHIELD anymore, since it seemed to deviate from the MCU). So that brings up the Cthon. And now, with the Eternals, you also have the possibility of the Deviants. Which could bring up Set and the Serpent Crown. That might be a cool way to go.

On the other hand, they've already shown the Celestials at least once, in Guardians of the Galaxy. Now Eternals can bring them more directly into things. So, maybe they'll bring in the Dreaming Celestial. That could be cool as well.

Either way, I'm looking forward to the future of the MCU.

You made my day, nay, my week with this statement. This is my favorite thing you've ever said.

The future is different, A-zombie. That and the fact I still think Kang and/or Mephisto (and possibly Annihilus) are in the works.

Also, while it was a nice trailer, I still do get the plot (if any) for the Eternals movie. Other than Jon Snow-errm I mean Dane Whitman wanting to lead the Avengers and everyone laughs.

Scarab Sages

I’ve seen a couple articles recently about people pushing for Norman Reedus to be cast as (I’m guessing Johnny Blaze) Ghost Rider. Recalling his performance in Walking Dead, I’d say it could be a really interesting choice. Although I was really hoping Gabriel Luna would continue in the role.

I mean we could have both. Nothing say Norman can't be Johnny Blaze AND Gabriel being Robbie.

I saw a rumor somewhere (I think r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers) that said "they are casting a character who appeared in Agents of SHIELD but with a different actor." The subsequent speculation has been that they are casting Johnny Blaze, since the other Ghost Rider appeared in SHIELD, as that possibility makes the most sense. It's either that or some lesser side character like General Hale (according to the rumors/spec I was looking at). Please note this is just rumors and speculation.

(Though per a comment from a few months ago: I don't actually see where AOS vastly deviates from MCU canon. I always thought the time travel/dimension hopping they did protected them from the Snap (they weren't in the right place/time to be affected by it)--and dealing with the Chronicoms, etc. occupied them so they were not aware of the threat other than the one mention of Thanos on the show. They even reference the Quantum travel the Avengers used at the end of the series. I know there are people who don't want to consider it canon for whatever reason, and it's generally not worth wasting one's time convincing them, but for those who do (or don't mind either way), it's not like it takes a lot of imagination to see how it fits. It sucks that differences in production schedules meant they couldn't make more direct connections to the later films and vice versa, but nothing gets in the way of each other--there's plenty of world-ending catastrophes for everyone. And yes, I know the Darkhold looks different on WandaVision than Runaways/AOS but I believe it's also comics canon it can change appearance, plus it's not the first time Marvel has made aesthetic changes to someone or something's appearance because they could make it look better later. I mean, is the first Thor movie not canon because he has different color eyebrows?).

As I recall, the Darkhold always appears in book form (ever since it was bound that way), but the contents within always change to allow whomever is looking at it to be able to read it. I don't know if they've ever said it in the comics, but I imagine that could go along with the outside altering its look as well.

I mean I'll miss the whole big D on the cover...but yeah I can get behind them doing a different 'form' of the Darkhold.
