Should you ever face a flying snake, this incantation you must make.
"Beechcraft, Mooney, Cessna, Piper. Go away you winged viper!"

(Note: "winged" must be pronounced with 2 syllables, i.e. "wing ed")

one of my favorites for mirror's of life trapping my 1st dm would have us recite to use.

Eye of bat, ear of cat, your not my friend! Get in that!

I must now recount a story I read, this was not me, let it be said.

A guy was playing some RPG wherein spellcasting was done by having to say a short rhyme, and the GM would decide what happened based on what you said and how apropos it was. So, the group fell down a large hole and wound up in complete darkness. The mage quickly blurted out "Rabbits, chickens, cows, and ducks! Turn on the lights, Fiat Lux!" The GM, laughing, described how the cavern lit up, revealing a number of confused looking barnyard animals (the aforementioned rabbits, chickens, cows, and ducks), a strange four-wheeled metal carriage with no obvious way to hook up a horse to it (Fiat being an Italian car company), and several bars of soap (Lux is a UK-based soap company). Unfortunately, they couldn't convince the GM to let them figure out some way to hotwire the car and take it with them.

That's very funny, though a bit sad as well, I hope that they were able to complete their adventure.

Oh, and my previous post (while completely true with every word) was meant to be read as a joke.

I know I was just trying to think about it while also trying not to think about the times I've had spam. Between all that I couldn't think of a response.

Oh, that is a good one!

I am at work and lucky me, I seem to be laundry free.

I got that beat. no laundry and no arrivals and I haven't seen a guest since I got here.

No sheets nor towels have I to do, no guests to arrive, though I've seen one or two.
They passed through the lobby and up to their room, not a word had been spoken as by me they'd zoom.

Ah I jinxed myself Just saw a guest but he was only passing through.

Be careful else yourself you'll jinx, so watch your mouth you saucy minx.

Well I do believe that was the first time anyone has called me a "saucy minx"

Well, now that out loud it has been said, would you prefer "gravy-covered bobcat" instead?

Questioning felines aside continue and your spleen I will hide.

Speaking of felines Mort has been gone awhile.

It's true that we haven't seen Mort, perhaps we should track her down for sport?

I'll have to get my hunting dogs

Right here boss!

Ah yes there he is.

Where have I been...running marathons by myself since all races have gone virtual, or been cancelled.

Spartan sprint on 7th November has been postponed till 2021. So I decided to run a marathon to see:

a) If I can
b) Because there's nothing else to do.

So my timing for that 42.2k would be 5 h 23 min 29 s.

My company has sold one out of the two vessels so we only have one vessel to deal with.

Climbing wise...

Here are my latest trophies:

Black rocks only - difficulty - 6a/6a+, but I hate slopers. Besides its a lot of high knees which is a bit hard for small cats like me.

White rocks only - difficulty - 6b/6b+

I've also joined my running group on the standard chartered virtual marathon and I'm now holding 4th place for distance covered this month (the top 3 are beyond my reach). I'm a turtle type runner. I'm willing to put in time to run, but I run at a turtle pace - so at the end of the day I can't really clock that much distance.

Besides the top 3 runners are probably those who have trained for years - I can't match them for mileage - I tried running 15 km 3 days in a row and even though it can be done, I was pretty much flat on the 4th day. There are lucky draw prizes to be won in the challenges - this week's challenge is to run 10 km. I've already done in 3 times, I'm going to head off to try again - it'll probably take me 1h 10 min + since I am in no hurry.

Is that how easy it is to summon you?

It is good to see you're doing well.

I was so supposed you're here this time, that I completely forgot to rhyme.

Scarab Sages

Good to hear from you Mort.

Sometimes I worry I helped turn Mort into a running robot by encouraging her. (it's a joke)

Running for 1-2h a day sort of eats into your day when you still have to cook for everyone you know...

I even had to plan my marathon properly - I waited for the day my in-laws were not eating dinner, cooked dinner at 4 pm, ate it, then hit the road at 5pm. Ran from sunset until near midnight. I told myself this was my night and this time I didn't have any commitments to get in my way to cause me to shorten my run. I even had indoor plans in case it started raining - I'd just complete my marathon in the sheltered stadium.

But at least the weather was good so I ran outdoors. It gives my marathon a little more validity(though an actual full one would be harder since there would be more elevation, and likely the timing would be less favourable).

Ninja warrior is insanely hard - talk about doing a Spartan Trifecta first.

Again if they allow mass sporting events in Singapore with Covid-19 still looming around...

Nice to see you're doing well, Mort

Kitty summoning's has a real short duration I think.

Summons do usually only last a few rounds.

True.

So finished the next little world of my game. the party released a bunch of high power semi psychotic wizards while rescuing one for their current quest. So that is totally not gonna come back and bite them in the rear.

They did get the chaotic neutral sword which went to the cat folk rogue. I approve of this decision as he is already chaotic... Their was a issue in a potion shop. very messy.

Means that good times were had by all!

I ran a half marathon in about 2h 9 min and 58s today. Would have been faster but I turned off my run app by pawing it by mistake while midrun and didn't realize it until much later. So I actually ran 20.9km instead of 21.1km as the pacer who didn't know any better told me to just run to finish point instead of looping cos we ran an extra long loop the last set. I am taking the pacers timing since there's no way I can't cover 200m in 2 min..

Also got a blister on my paw.

Ouch on the blister. 2 hours is a good time for a half marathon if im not mistaken. Certainly beats the heck out of what I could do.

I'm not sure I could even watch a half-marathon in two hours, let alone try to run it.

2h or sub 2 is better but it's a bit hard to do it in the tropics. Too hot. I don't even suggest that you run a half marathon without training first.

Blister on my paw was because I didn't wear my mittens properly.

You got to wear your kitten mittens mort. What with your paws doing all them hittens on the pavement. you gonna leave dittens with all the hittens of your kittin mittens.

And yes I would probably die attempting that.

The Exchange

My mittens weren't on properly that's why they rubbed against my paw and caused a blister. And no I never trained barepaw running - it's a really bad idea once the sun comes up - I tried walking with no mittens from the pool side into the pool and gosh was the ground hot!

We have to work on your rhyming Mort.

Kitty feet are soft, their arches sure do loft. But watch out when the ground is hot, as then she'll hop about a lot.

Sovereign Court

Nice to know. I am not really a pet person these days, but I used to be very attached to my pet dog Heinz when I was a toddler.

How did Mort get to the Netherlands?

The Exchange

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Nah can't get out of country these days...its another kitty. I saw the other day someone trying to walk a cat and he was having to drag the cat along lol.

Their is a reason people don't walk cats... Maybe he forgot to put the cat's kitten mittens on it.

The cats in Holland my be Dutch, and like tulips very much. By try and take one for a walk, and then you'll see it stop and balk.

To rhyme all the time some could consider a crime. But I say if you can rhyme on a dime they can just go suck on a lime.

If sucking limes causes them to dread, then I have something they can suck instead.
