I will become impatient when I get my shipping notice and am teased by all those temporarily useless PDFs that are dropped into my digital assets.

Yep, me too.
I still have about 60 character sheets filled from top to bottom with stats and notes from when I dove into D&D 3.5 over a decade ago. I've used about 3 or 4 of them. But I have them!
...I had a problem -- I'm better now.
Still, though... want to make PF2 characters...
I did say better, not cured. :0)

I do the same thing, the second I have the Core book in my hands I will start rolling characters, minimum of one of every class, likely multiple of each.

Absolutely. For a month now, I've been annoying my boyfriend with speculation, excited comments about small tidbits of information found here and comments about the things I'm looking forward to doing in the new edition. This is not about to stop. I'm really looking forward to this, and I absolutely will be at my local gaming store on the first to get the books they pre-ordered for me.
We won't be playing it anytime soon, since we are just starting Ruins of Azlant and about half-way through Rise of the Runelords, but it will be fun reading about it and preparing characters for other potential game. In fact, we might end up playing the one-shot adventure in between other gaming sessions just to see how it goes.

We’ve got a pretty long-running group, with several people GMing different campaigns. When PF1 came out, my group was absolutely adamant they’d never touch anything but 3.5. So I offered to GM a Rise of the Runelords campaign to convince everyone. Within 2 months we’d switched all of our campaigns to PF.
When PF2 was announced, my group was absolutely adamant they’d never touch anything but PF1. I’m starting an Age of Ashes campaign mid-August. I expect we’ll be completely switched over before Fall...

I'm going to try to get my friends into it with Plaguestone, possible replacing our current pf1 game with Age of Ashes. But that's a ways away.
Gencon i's upcoming though, and I hope to play either a half orc bard inspiring through comedy or a goblin cleric of Sarenrae who worships the goddess of the great ball of fire in the sky

We just wrapped up our Vampire game last Sunday so now are impatiently twiddling our thumbs for PF2. First session is going to be on the 4th, so I'm going to have to really cram if I end up GMing (another player has proposed they GM, but they are also moving house the following week so we shall see!)
If I do get to play I'm doing Monk/Bard. "Flying Harmonica Style!"

Lanathar |

I am frustrated it isn’t out now because a series of commitment clashes means my 1E Hells Rebels game won’t get another session until the 20th July as the whole group want to be able to play (for obvious reasons)
If 2E had been out it would have been a perfect time to trial it with one less player
Sadly I don’t see a switch over coming very quickly due to:
- the amount of money two of my players have dropped on herolab licenses
- the makeup of my Hells Rebels group (Devoted Muse, Witch with a monk dip for numbers purposes , Blood Kineticist and Milani Cardinal). At least two of those characters have no conversion. The Muse can probably be partially achieved with Champion with a glaive and the cleric is doable with a quick conversion of the deity)
We are book 4 and not used to high level play so it could be some time yet (although my plan is to end it at book 4). Next desire is also for Rise of the Runelords so unless I convert it...
I think I might propose a break point to play plaguestone though
I am currently very optimistic. But I never played the playtest so I am not sure what I am basing this on! Because I seem to recall feeling positive of my initial read of 4E - but I have much more knowledge about these games now so think I can spot things better than then!

I'm surprised with how close we are to release how little we actually know about the game through official channels.
There's been some serious infodumps from people scouring videos frame by frame and transcribing information from pages but so little official news outside the playtest and a few vague references to things that have changed.

Out of interest why would that be a concern? Is this a fear that they are hiding things they expect backlash on ? I can’t immediately think of anything rumoured that is controversial enough

I think it's more the fact that aside from us here in the forums, "outside" people have no idea how the game is going to work. Paizo needs to start working better on spreading the new edition and its selling points to "all the internet" quickly!
Pathfinder has a really small reach regarding online material, it's hard to find actual PF sessions on YT, when you search for it the Kingmaker game pops up more frequently than RPG sessions. What PF team needs to learn is the power of internet, they already got the equivalent of "Acq. Inc" with the Glass Cannon Podcast, now the next step should be an equivalent to Critical Role (but less boring and long). YT and Twitch are the things Paizo should focus more from now on, cause I sure wanna see these guys getting the recognition they deserve for years of hard work!

Yes that is the concern, not knowing what they are not telling is (real or imaginary) is worrying people.
Personally I am really interested in seeing cantrip scaling, and ideally, I would like to see character progression, seeing the same character at level 1 5 and 10.
It would be lovely if the pregens were already done.

Mostly because I haven't seen more marketing. It's Sir Owlbear To U is right. I remember the HUGE push when Pathfinder 1st Edition came out.

Oh good, I was starting to believe I was the only one who thought this.
I'm extremely excited for 2E. The days are crawling as I anticipate the release, but it's not long now. Not long at all... (or so I tell myself)

I am amazed at how popular something where every episode is around 3-4 hours (and was originally YouTube only) managed to get. It doesn’t seem like the strategy to get a big following. But there you go

Just dont call yourself Iccarus (Icky for short) and were good ^_^
Also, highly recommend saying "The great ball of fire in the sky" instead of "the sun" at every opportunity to drive home the zealotry and goblinity of it all

You both should read the "WE BE HEROES?" Free RPG Day module... You'll probably like the half-blind village chief. ;)

I don't have a name yet, but I figure it will be something alliterative of Firelover. I figure the goblin will refer to the sun as The Flame that Feeds upon the Sky or something similar. A spin on the Eye of Sauron. My headcanon has this as an inversion of a Tolkien-style goblin.

Apologies for the double post. Yeah, I think I need to get an all goblin game going at some point, in a similar vein to the initial playtest adventure.

Wish I could get an advance copy to write a review or something! I'm impatient. I'm getting my game forum setup on RPOL, and I have lots of ideas for an exploration-and-survival-heavy game with underlying mystery and grand adventure seeds (a la Breath of the Wild). But not having the rules makes it tough to do more than put concepts together.
This is gonna be one long brainstorm!
