Iomedaen Enforcer - Aura of Justice

Rules Questions

Sovereign Court

Hello everybody,

The Iomedaen Enforcer Archetye changes Smite Evil to Smite Chaos,

the 11th level ability states:
" a paladin can expend two uses of her smite evil ability to grant the ability to smite evil to all allies within 10 feet"

How is such to be treated, as the Iomedaen Enforcer does not change or otherwise replace the 11th paladin level ability?

Would the implication be that "smite evil" referes to be ability to smite, rather than the requirement of needing to smite a specific alignment?

Google had not found me what I was looking for, so if there already was a thread on this, a link to it would be much appreciated.

Well it looks like Smite Chaos is treated as Smite Evil for all purposes except targeting targeting Chaotic creatures, so I would say it works.

A very very strict GM might not read it that way and say it doesn't work.

As per wildblooded sage sorcerers using Int instead of Cha for spellcasting and class features then getting 3 + Cha uses of arcane bolt, - but actually getting 3 + Int, per FAQ - the Iomedaen enforcer more or less has to work sensibly and use its variant of smite evil to power its auras.
