Figurine of Fabouls power Tiny Hut

Silver Crusade

Is it possible to craft a figurine of fabouls power in the form of the spell tiny hut undedr the rulkes?

Is it possible to make the spell Magnificent Mansion sp[ell permanant?

If your game allows custom item creation, then it is certainly possible. I wouldn't use a wondrous figure specifically, since most of those tend to be animals in form. The item could certainly look like a small onyx house or jade mansion.

There's no listing for mage's magnificent mansion in permanency but that doesn't mean it's impossible. Looking at 15k to 20k gp and need to be 15th level (using create greater mindscape as a comparable rubric.

Otherwise, for the tiny hut, could use the (Dearn's) instant fortress item as a guide. A little cheaper since it's not an actual building, but would need limits on daily use or time between uses so it isn't basically a mobile firing blind (you can hide in it and no one can see in). That would be a bit potent if not restricted. Unless you didn't mean tiny hut and instead meant secure shelter, which is an actual structure and would be easier to compare price-wise to the instant fortress.

The math for custom items is just a guideline. If there is a similar item that does the same thing, then use that.

A use-activated or continuous item uses (Spell level × caster level × 2,000 gp) to calculate the starting price. For tiny hut, that would be 3 x 5 x 2000 for 30,0000, which you would need to double because it doesn’t use a body slot, so 60,000. That’s a little pricey.

If you are just wanting a nightly comfortable rest, then we could tweak the item a little. A command word item uses (Spell level × caster level × 1,800 gp), and may be more in line with a figurine. So for 10 hours a day, that’s 3 x 5 x 1800 again doubled for no slot for 54,000, but if we make it usable only once per day we can divide that by 5 for 10,800.

That’s all assuming you actually wanted tiny hut and not secure shelter though the formula would be very similar.

Edit: just found the field scriveners desk, which does about the same thing but costs half as much. So, they must not be doubling the price for it not using up a slot. Maybe because the item isn’t worn at all.

Using the field scriveners desk as an example, I’d guess a secure shelter once per day item would be around 10,080 gold and last for up to 14 hours per day. The desk even gets a few additional perks, so you could maybe add features to the shelter, like a stocked kitchen, and round the cost down to 10,000.

The Field Scrivener's Desk is only 5,400 gp, and is slotless. It gives at will Tiny Hut that lasts 10 hours. You need to collaps and reactivate to get it to go another 10 hours.

As to Permanency, if the GM allows, it would be priced at 17,500 gp and need a 15th level caster. [Standard for a 7th level spell such as Mage's Magnificent Mansion.]

Edit: The desk produces up tp 52.2 gp of merchandise each time it is opened. Even if sold at half price, you can activate the desk often enough in a single day to make up the cost. Yet another way to break the game's economics. :-)

Are you looking for something like an Instant Fortress, or maybe an Expedition Pavilion?

Silver Crusade

I'm looking for a cheaper instant fortress. Instant Fortress costs 50K gp. I'm am looking for something that is enclosed to keep the elements out while my character sleeps and studies his spells we adventure in bad weather a lot.

Tiny Hut doesn't really keep anyone out. It just makes the weather nice inside. I feel like all of the relevant items that do what you want have already been mentioned. So, you'd need to craft your own item and work with your DM to work on the specifics.

As I already mentioned, if going custom, you should be able to build a once per day item that casts secure shelter for a 14 hour duration. And that item should cost around 10,000 gold. You're probably not going to do much better than that.

I suppose another option would be just buying scrolls or wands of secure shelter. The wand would cost 21,000 gp, with 50 charges. The scroll would cost 700gp.

The Expedition Pavilion is 6400gp and handles anything shy of a hurricane.

It doesn't seem to have any barriers to entry, other than some silk drapes. You'd be about as safe by setting up a normal tent inside of the tiny hut effect. The secure shelter at least gives you some solid walls and an arcane lock to bypass.

Assuming of course you completely ignore the once per day activation limitation.

Ouch. That snark. Yeah, he obviously missed a very important part of the text. It's not that unusual when reading an item you aren't that familiar with. But of course, if you think an option is too good to be true.... then it probably is, and you should probably read it again to see if you missed something.

Ouch is right. I missed that Once per day. Still, it is a handy item.

Which at least in my case I'd have no problem with unless for some other reason the spell Create Demiplane, Lesser was banned from the campaign as in many way Create Demiplane, Lesser is every bit as powerful if not more so and can be made permanent via Permanency.
