Life Leech (Mystery of Nature): Is leeching party members evil?

Advice

I would like to know how you would rule this.

If a player uses the Ability "Life Leech" from the Mystery of Nature to drain hit points from a member of his own party to get temporary hit pojnts in preperation of a fight and/or a dungeon-run (sind this is hour/CH), is this considered as an evil action, even when the orace is goint to heal his party member up again afterwards?

Edit - If you would consider this as an evil act - would you punish a good caracter for this in any form?

id say depending on consent. if he explain and get their approval it shouldn't be. many spells let people share their hp. some martyr classes are built on such abilities. like cash it's bad if you take it without consent ,but if agreed to why would it be any different?

Compared to Gold, they are being hurt, while taking gold with approval does not deal direct body-damage. Taking Damage on purpose might be acceptable for the target, but might a good deity (or in case of this caracter a good pantheon) would see it this way? I am thinking about this might go a step too far.

Nah. It's about consent. If your team mate says "Sure, I"ll loan you some hp so you can be extra durable, especially since you're going to heal me up after". It's not too different than someone using the Bodyguard feat to take a hit for you.

The problem only arises if you attempt to do this without the approval or knowledge.

Otherwise, deities probably have way too much to worry about to worry if someone is willingly giving hit points to someone else.

as i said the whole martyr thing (which have a repeating a lot. mostly in good religion connections, you don't see that many evil martyrs) is about taking damage. if he agree to be a martyr for the cause why would it matter that you are the one holding the knife?

This is similar to taking a blood transfusion and latter giving it back to the person when he needs it. Sure it hurts a little now, but it may save his life. If you are killed you cannot heal the target after the battle. While you may be using the HP to stay alive instead of just holding them, the point is that by taking the HP you are able to heal the target. Since this last for hours I am assuming you are healing them directly afterwards.

From a tactical stand point you would be better of using it in combat. That way it not only gives you HP it also weakens the enemy. The only reason I could think of using not doing so is if what you are fighting is not a living creature. So is you are going to be going up against undead or constructs you would be better off not using it on a party member.

Also keep in mind that an oracle has no alignment restrictions. They do not lose class abilities for doing evil acts. You are not an oracle of a particular deity, or even a pantheon, you are simply an oracle. It is entirely possible that the source of your powers also includes evil deities. If you worship a god that god has no more power over you than it does a fighter or a rouge. You are not a cleric that has to follow the teachings of your deity or lose your class abilities.

Thank you for your opinions on this, this helps me a lot! :)
