Alien Archive 3 is going to be Otterly Beautiful!

Hopefully they draw them right. More human and less like an otter.

Why would we want to diminish the appeal?

Would a furry otter be okay?

So... the only news from Paizocon for Starfinder is Otterfolk? I do wonder if these otters have a highly sophisticated lottery system to determine their planetary leadership as most space fairing otters have been shown to lean towards in other galaxies far, far, away.

Great news! I'll have to let my wife know, I have her back as I'm her significant OTTER.

Pathfinder 2 crowded everything out so there wasn't a lot to report, still: we're getting Otterfolk and Ship based Magic.

What about the platypus people?

Check out the Starfinder Society Organized Play group on Facebook. They're dropping info-bombs like it's the Fourth of July.

Ooh, what with starship combat not using a traditional round/action structure, I'm wondering how that's going to work.

No word yet, still, they were really fast about dropping Otterfolk on us.

Speaking as the guy who drops the big infobomb posts, I'm sad that they aren't bigger but I'm glad to get the info out there because Paizo has been very radio silent in the three months since I last dropped a big info dump post and now even the tiniest stuff is a big deal for me.

Starfinder devs are furries confirmed?

I would assume it uses a new type of ship-action. You aren't casting normal spells on a normal time interval, you are casting different ( or modified ) spells on a ship-action time interval.

People here just find otters to be really adorable!

I mean you say that as if the maraquoi, nuar, pathra, winterborn ryphorians, uplifted bears, vlaka, and ysoki, along with a dozen or so others, give or take, hadn't already confirmed it.

Which personally I'm not down with but so long as the otterfolk are more otter and less folk to fill that Rocket Racoon, funny in it's absurdity, talking space animal nice, I'm okay with.

They did announce the next adventure path -- something about a threefold conspiracy involving Grays, Reptoids, and ?

I'd guess the brain parasite aliens since those are the other ones that get mentioned whenever the Unseen come up.

Well, at least my 3d models are ready for the otters.

I actually added this to my "Facebook Info Dump" and I had to dig out a little research on the Unseen because I had know memory of what races were actually in the Unseen and as far as I can tell: Bodysnatcher Slime, Dycepskians, Grays, and Reptoids.

It seems like the Mi-Go threat should fall under the “Unseen” umbrella as well. They kind of seem like they pose a bigger threat than any other Unseen faction we’ve seen so far. Hope they pop up in the new AP!

Compelling idea, even more compelling if you think the Mi-Go might be the big bad in the upcoming AP. But I'm holding off on including them until I learn more about the Unseen. As far as it's been implied, the Unseen are a race that's sort of loosely working together but the Mi-Go don't strike me as the "plays well with others". If anything, I can see the Mi-Go playing the Pact Worlds and the Unseen off one another.

In pathfinder so far, the Mi-go are lovecraftian scientist/explorers. So everything in that write up + worshiping outer gods. I don't think they would be welcome with the unseen even if they wanted to be a part of it.

Where has this been confirmed, and were there pictures?

Do we know they are working together? Go to Chris Sims straight up said the Grays and the Reptoids aren't allied with each other when the AP was revealed at Paizocon. That doesn't necessarily mean they don't work together, but I kind of figured they were just after different things. Grays are interested in abducting people to acquire knowledge, Reptoids are interested in infiltrating society by replacing people, and Mi-Go do a little bit of both.

Grays have likely abducted reptoids and the reptoids have likely replaced grays, and mi-go have likely possessed the host bodies of both the grays and the reptoids.

He's right. I do daz, and I can create my own otter folk with that three-dimensional model.

Okay, now I want a Mi-Go possessing the host body of a Reptoid replacing a Gray who abducts a Reptoid possessed by a Bodysnatcher Slime hitching a ride inside a Mi-Go. Because Unseen secret societies are really bad at keeping up with paperwork, and have as much trouble telling each other apart as we do.

And by the end, he's perfectly human.

I had missed Sims' "The Reptoids and Grays" are not working together comment. Thanks for reminding me. That DOES change things.
