Seems kind of strange there hasn’t been much here on the boards about any big news / anything interesting from PaizoCon ...

Last night was the Banquet, but there’s not much chatter about anything cool or interesting. Heck, I haven’t seen much even about new 2E details.

Folks that are there - what the vibe like? Any big announcement? Anything interesting?

The banquet was streamed worldwide, there a lot being discussed over announcements in the foruns bellow.

Here is a thread summarizing the Preview Banquet, with links to the video. There are, as Draco Bahamut said, several other threads in the P2e subforum discussing what's been revealed about 2nd edition.

There's an entire forum devoted to PaizoCon

And there are [PaizoCon] tags on a lot of the threads in Pathfinder Second Edition forum

They have been streaming the con on Twitch, and all of the streams are available. It has been great!

Just some minor discussion about the last two volumes of the Tyrant's Grasp adventure path. Those are the only PF1 products yet to be released.

Oops, I forgot about the Druma book in the Campaign Setting line. Not much was said about it either.

I am disappointed that there were no Pathfinder Battles slides.
"Legendary Adventures" is the first minis set for Second Edition and includes huge creatures in the regular boosters (like the Dragon Turtle). It is atm scheduled for a september release.

Even stranger is that the "Legendary Adventures: preview pack" wasn't shown, as it has an august street date and will very probably be available at Gen Con (august 1st) with the rest of the Second Edition products.

Even the "Dwarven Forge" Second Edition set was mentioned.

The primary PF1 news from the PaizoCon Banquet was "we support our 3rd party publishers."

More specifically, the announcement included the fact that 3pps could start receiving materials so they can ramp up to support PF2 as of June 14th. I, personally, find that pretty exciting since it means there's a really good chance that there will be day 1 third-party support. Between that and the ludicrous amount of adventure material that's also going to be immediately available (3 scenarios, 1 special, 1 module, 1 AP volume) PF2 is going to have a strong chance to hit the ground running and ramp up to a really impressive depth of options for both characters and GMs in very short order.

Aye! I was pretty excited to hear that news as well. Pathfinder has always had some of the THE best 3PP support, and I would love to see that continue.

Friend, I think you may have missed the point. Unless... you're being so incredibly meta by replying to stuff about PF1 with stuff about PF2 that it's genius. 'Cuz that's the point.

I'm truly unsure if this wooshed or if you're being exceptionally clever.

Any major Starfinder news come out of PaizoCon? I know everyone's excited about the new edition, but Starfinder also has some big releases on the horizon.

The 3PP thing tied to 1E is that unlike another RPG, they aren't going to stop publishers from making 1E material if they also decide to make 2E material. To paraphrase Owen, that sort of thing might lead a 3PP to decide to just develop their own rule set based on the previous edition to cater to that audience.

- Beginners Box

- Alien Archive 3
- Attack off the Swarm
- Character Operations Manual
- Next AP following the AotS is called The Threefold Conspiracy, an we will be facing the Unseen.

Unfortunately, no cover previews for the AP. =/

But the C.O.Manual did get its cover previewed and its awesome! We also got the new iconic characters for the new classes. Male human witchwarper, male korasha lashunta vanguard and female kasatha biohacker. The witchwarper is now my favorite starfinder iconic.

I feel like I'm best served to leave a bit of mystery there regardless of which is true.

That being said, I do see PF2 as a pretty natural evolution of PF1 and there's definitely things I've worked on in PF1 that will see their stories and progress continue on into the new edition, I expect better for the transition.

Michael I was so excited to hear about all the products and how fast they were coming out! This is much better than the way you guys rolled out Starfinder. It seemed like content came out in a trickle and people had to wait forever to get enough content really get into the system. This model is much better as it will really let people jump in with both feet and experience all the new edition has to offer!

Thanks to you all for all the hard work you guys have put in to making so much wonderfully exciting content available to quickly!

I think they also said at the banquet that the SF adventure paths would no longer start in the same month as the Pathfinder APs, but I only saw the twitch video as I didn't attend the con. I didn't catch an explanation of how that shift would be achieved, but a 3-adventure AP after Attack of the Swarm would shift them out of phase.

No, that is not how it is happening (as they named another 6 part adventure to follow Attack of the Swarm).

The release schedule of Starfinder APs is unchanged.

However, August 1st will see the release of volume 6 of Tyrant's Grasp and volume 1 of the 1st PF2 AP. From that point on, each Pathfinder AP will be starting a month ahead of the closest corresponding Starfinder AP.

Wow, Paizo Con was last weekend, shows how much I have been paying attention.

Elsewhere (I think the future of Paizo seminar) they hinted that they may adjust the Starfinder schedule to offset using a 3 part AP, but did not confirm when that would happen.

Since they announced another 6 part AP to for the first half of next year, that adjustment would be over a year away. By that point, the precedent of the Pathfinder and Starfinder APs being at least a month apart for starting points would be very well established. The 1 month displacement can be confirmed from looking at the two subscriptions (assuming that the only error in the Starfinder AP subscription is that one item is currently missing).
