Best Solar Weapon forms you’ve seen?

What are some fun/unique solar weapons people have seen in Starfinder?

I mean, the core book basically says anything goes so long as the mechanics remain the same, so what have you seen that are more than just swords and punching daggers?

My solarian is a charisma-impeded android who started out as a mechanic but had an "episode" on Eox, went out in the night and came back as a solarian. He's still afraid of organic food.

Right now I'm using a 2D hyperplane of rather dramatic (apocalypse crystal) looking equations. Being super-thin, it does slashing damage.

Since we're probably heading into undead territory soon I might convert to a dekeract (10-dimensional cube) projected into 3D space. Being supernally dense it would be a bludgeoning instrument vaguely looking like a mace that makes your eyes water if you look at the edges. Being bludgeoning, I'd be able to apply a Disupting fusion to it.

I'm playing as essentially a direct conversion of Ryoko Hakubi, and her summoned energy weapon is just *so* perfect for the class that I had to think it was intentional.

If only the thrown fusion worked with the Solarian weapon, I could mimic her shooty blasts too.

That's a revelation I would like to see.

Something like: graviton revelation - as a move action you can move your mote away from your person up to 100ft away, shedding light from the mote as normal. When attuned or fully attuned, you can treat a melee weapon in your hand as if it had the thrown weapon property with a range increment of 20 ft. You can use this revelation with a solar weapon, when used this way, it is dismissed after it misses or deals damage instead of automatically as it leaves your hand. It fully forms in a free hand at the start of your next turn (no action), if you have no free hands it remains dismissed.

I didn’t want to open with this, but a guy on the boards made a character based off of JoJo’s bizarre adventure. His original character concept was to have his solar weapon be Hamon, but then I pointed out that his weapon could just be a Stand so long as he kept one hand free and followed all the mechanical rules of Solarian weapons.

At one of the conventions I ran Starfinder at last year, someone had a solarian with a giant hammerspace mallet as their solar weapon.

It was surprisingly popular when that was revealed.

I have a Hellknight Order of the Pike Solarian with a stellar spear.

When he gets to 6th level he can take a standard action to upgrade it to a stellar lance with Reach... the fun thing is that it will still be a one-handed weapon, so it'll kinda be like an old Jet Li movie with some one-handed polearm action.

My solarian player was taking forever to decide on what his weapon was going to be, so as a "punishment" I made it out as a leather sap. He never bothered changing it.

The Solarian in my game is mild mannered and quiet when not in combat, but when initiative gets rolled, he suddenly sounds a whole lot like the Macho Man. Consequently, his solar weapon looks like a steel folding chair.

That clip just made my day. Oh the memories! I may just try to make a Ryoko of my own now.

I'm not crazy, YOU'RE CRAZY!!!!!!

There you go, screen shot of the game where the superhero 'Idealist' (think Green Lantern, only her powers are psychic) makes a giant floaty cat head that shoots laser beams.

Totally self-congratulatory here, but I play a vesk miner with a solar mining pick, as well as a gnome archaeologist with a solar drill.

Also, can we share cool solar armor forms? Because I have a gnome worshiper of Arshea with a solar chainmail bikini. Oh, and an elf who lost a loved one while becoming a solarian, whose solar armor looks like a ghost of said loved one, embracing them. And I intend to play a dragonblooded sarcesian whose solar armor looks like lunar dragon scales.

Huh, never thought about having unique solar armors. Thanks for the thoughts. Sounds like you play a LOT of solarians!

Seriously. I had to go look up to see if that was actually a thing in the rules.

It's very strange when they're layered on top of light armor.

The solarians who've played at my tables lack creativity.

Light sabers. Always lightsabers.

At least it is better than the iconic Solarian, who just has a spike coming out of his hand. That’s just lazy.

I have a type... Three of my four highest level Starfinder Society characters are solarians, all built totally differently. Star power is kind of my aesthetic. :3

I’ve had in mind a solarion whose weapon is shaped like a miniature dragon that flys near him so it is still a melee weapon while he ‘wielding’ hand is behind his back.

"Solar" weapon for my solarion is a claw composed of void and gravitational energy.

I recently played a science experiment gone wrong Solarian in a one off. She was this horrible abomination but could shapeshift to look human. Her solar weapon was a full on monster arm that overlapped hers, big bulky with prismatic scales and spikes. Think Nightmare from Soul calibur or the characters from Prototype. Was a fun little nod to her true nature, and the experiments intended endgame.

Wayfinders

For a homebrew campaign, one of my Solarians I designed weilds a musical quarter note for a solar weapon. His race is known for music, but he has no aptitude for music. Maybe later, an accordion-- and get shot first on general principle.

Another one is from a planet where life never evolved animal protein chains, but plants filled all of the ecological niches. Many move around and hunt. So this Solarian's armor looks like leaves overlapping regular armor.

After PaizoCon/Origins, anyone come across any new Solarian weapons?

Now I want a Kasthan bagpipe player using a similar theme obvs built as a tank to absorb all the shots

MY current backup pc is I think going to be an uplifted polar Bear wielding a fuligin bastard sword that drinks in light.

Tailblade+Lightning fusion? Works on any Ysoki?

Tailblades are level 4, sadly; just high enough to be immediately out of reach of new chars, but just low enough to be deprived of the Classic fusions, such as the bane and elemental ones.

‘tis a shame. A shame my Ridley knockoff knows all too well.

Retractable spike installed to the tail element of your armour?

Not of you make it out of djezet alloy.

Any weapon with metal components, even those that deal only energy damage, can be made of djezet alloy. Such a weapon is considered to be 2 item levels lower when determining which fusion seals can be applied to the weapon, but it is considered to be 2 item levels higher when determining the total level of fusions that can be applied to the weapon.

Huh, I had always assumed djezet just let you put more fusions on a weapon. So, for the tail blade, natively it’s level 4, with djezet you could put a total of 6 levels of fusions on it.

I didn’t think it raised the effective item level to put a higher level fusion on it.

Not surprising with not!Jedi using strange "powers" with a focus on "balance".

My Barathu Solar Disciple Solarian devotee of Sarenrae uses "solar flares" that do slashing damage.

Huh, I went the other way with a JoJo inspired character as an Android Outlaw:

G0-⁂ awoke one day, his bodies previous soul having left after committing a life of crime, leading him to be wanted for crimes his ancestors once committed. To try to redeem the G0-⁂ name, he went into a life of asceticism but his synthetic blood’s fighting spirit was awoken when he unlocked the gravity manipulating stand「SPONTANEOUS ME」.
