GenCon 10-98 Siege of Gallowspire (15-16) Premustering

I'm planning on playing 10-98 at GenCon with my 15th level Ranger Archer. I coming to GenCon solo so no preset group for me. At GenCon 50, I was able to play the specials at tables that we premustered here on the boards and it was great! I'd like to do that again. The problem is there are now two different versions: Soldier and Champion. If I'm going Pot-Luck Saturday night, I think I'd prefer Soldier. If I'm in a well rounded pre-mustered group, Champion sounds like fun.

So Anyone interested in premustering Siege of Gallowspire (15-16)?

I'm hoping to get into a 15-16 level Champion game, may the wishlist processor gods smile down upon me. My 16th level Unchained Monk will be coming out of retirement.

I’m also planning on 15-16 Champion, with either a 16 archer warpriest (liberation and good domains), or a 16 aether kineticist (>350hp woohoo).

Playing my level 12 or 13 character at this event, champion, hopefully everyone that shows up will be awesome like it has been in the past. And if we go down... well, at least the end was epic.

Candi (bloodrager (arcane)/"Paladin of Calistria"), who will be 16th level by GenCon, hopes to do 15-16 Champion.

I have this wonderful friend who would love to meet you, dear. She's a bit stuffy, but what can you do with a Pharasmin?

Just a reminder, tickets for specials are sold by sub-tier and in this case further sub-divided by soldier and champion. Be careful to buy the ticket for the specific table you wish to play. Any/all real tickets not being used for the table designated will be converted into priority generic tickets. Meaning that if you chose not to sit at the table that your ticket indicates, you will be shunted to the generic ticket line. However all real tickets in the line will be seated in first come-first serve order based on our available seating and prior to actual generic tickets.

If I'm understanding correctly, the following might happen:

- I want to play Tier 10-11 Soldier, but all those tickets are sold out.
- So I buy a Tier 5-6 Soldier ticket, planning to use it as a "priority generic."
- When the mustering happens I choose not to use my 5-6 Soldier ticket, and wait in line hoping to get into 10-11 Soldier.

But, there's a chance this might backfire horribly.
- It turns out there are no open seats in 10-11 Soldier.
- Since other people with "priority generics" have been seated, someone may have taken my "real-ticket" 5-6 Soldier seat that I didn't use. (Say, someone who bought a 15-16 Champion ticket to use as a priority generic hoping to get into 5-6 Soldier.) But that was my second-choice tier to play.
- By the time the priority generic merry-go-round slows, I may only have a couple of choices left. So I have to decide between 15-16 Soldier or 7-8 Champion (as examples).

So I better be really sure I understand the risks before I gamble on the priority generic line.

Not going to lie I was hoping for an 18-19 tier so I could bring my Barbarian, have his last hurrah be against the Whispering Tyrant. Would have been an epic way to get him to 20.

Oh well. Maybe he'll have some use as a support character?

Ok now that I have my 15-16 Soldier ticket, my monk is ready to go adventuring. Anyone else want to come along for the ride? Have a bottle of whiskey!

I know you are kidding, but I wanted to remind everyone that the convention center is a no-alcohol area. Do not bring open inebriates into the Sag. Of course we would also appreciate if you did not arrive to your game heavily influenced. If you imbibe during breaks, please be responsible. Thx

--EDIT--the convention center is also a smoke-free area. This includes vaping, electronic cigarettes, etc.

Sorry for the derail. We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread :-D

I believe it's still impossible to request a gm/get one ahead of the slot's start time, correct? I have a 15-16 group that'll be going in together, would be nice to have a GM who knows what to expect and prep for first.

Impossible - I was at a table that did it two years ago - twice.

Difficult - Yes.
Worth It - Yes.

We will have a process by which a full table (six) of players can pre-muster for a slot in which they all have registered tickets for, but it is all done on site. We do not take reservations in advance of the event.

GMs are assigned a specific sub-tier and do not have to prep the others so they will generally know what to expect when they are preparing their table.

Nah, I know they'll be prepping for a specific sub-tier. I meant more with prepping for the players. ;)

It'll be fun to bring the insanity once more.

Alas, we had a group planning to do 15-16 Champion, but I was the only one to get that ticket, the rest got 15-16 Soldier.

I have a crossblood lava gnome sorcerer who specializes in Fireball to great effect. I will likely have a ninja with me as my son is leveling him up before Gen Con. If no ninja, then he will bring his half-elf fighter archer that he has played across five Gen Cons. My other buddy is likely bringing his oracle with the life mystery and healing out the ying-yang or his skald.

We would love to organize before hand and super optimize our table.

We are in champion playing 16th Level PFS characters.

Thanks!

Edit: My sorcerer knows Named Bullet due to having the archer with her, so I will cast that on you no issue. Plus Haste and other buffs of course...

Got in the 15-16 Champion slot after a couple hours of checking for dropped tickets.

I will be playing my nigh-unkillable level 16 monk.

But like normal, if we show up to muster early and have four to six, they will try and seat us together right? I know sometimes they cannot, but they try their best.

Liberty's Edge *** Venture-Captain, Nebraska—Omaha

In years past I was able to muster with a group and with a GM willing to run the table.

Since we don't know what tier each GM will get we can't really ask for a specific one.

But there was a process that did allow a group to muster for a specific GM.

As always, Leads will have the final say on the matter.

Hopefully the area near this line can be a swap meet for ticket holders to maximize the number of people who get to be where they want to be.

In my case, I got the ticket I wanted, but now I'm cut off from my group. I'm sure that has happened to lots of people when we are dealing in such low numbers per category. In retrospect, maybe it would have been better to have had fewer tiers to increase player flexibility.

At this point the entire Gallowspire event appears sold out so I would show up for the game that I have the ticket to play. It will be difficult to swap tables as the higher levels do not have pregens available and not everyone will have a 15th or 16th level PFS character available.

****

Sure, but more than 84 people have level 15-16 characters. Heck, the people in my intended party have at least two 15th level characters each because we were previously told to have two characters for this scenario.

The Champion tickets sold out first for this tier, so I'm still going to hold out hope that I can trade my highly desired ticket. My teammates would also be willing to swap their Soldiers to join me in Champion if another team has reconsidered playing "hard mode".

** Venture-Agent, Canada—Saskatchewan—Regina aka Cordawg

so my character will be level 15 by gencon so I will be in tier so my character will be a level 14 investigator/ 1 fighter like I said I am a utility support character but I can hold my own I am really excited for this special
