Some seats are being held in reserve for allocation at the event.

I would love to hear the methodology for this. In my personal opinion, there is little to gain by restricting access to the events from people who are willing to register in advance. Generally speaking PaizoCon is not an acquisition con. The number of walk-ins is extremely low. It’s a focused con not like a standard convention where you a lot of people present who may be unaware of or never played your products and you there to be available seats for them. Restricting table seats seems to be an unnecessary complication. Assuming they will be made available on site, it rewards players who arrive the earliest and stand in the registration line first. The players who have to take later flights, etc and arrive just in time for the start or maybe even miss the first day of the con will be SoL. Unless those seats are being held for either the lottery because they are in such high demand or for ViPs in which case how does one get to be a ViP and why do they warrant such treatment?

Alternatively, was it easier to code all game events for four players to get the event sign-up out the door in a timely fashion?

That is NOT a slam on the folks putting forth the registration, but rather a different thought-chain as to why all the games appear to be '4' rather than '6'.

Four player tables make for a 'cozier' environment, but at the same time can start to make things feel 'exclusive' for an Organized Play that has taken *incredible* pains to be 'inclusive'.

This new policy the more I think on it the more upset I get. I plan my trip based on what I sign up for so I just bring what I need. But because the sign-ups were limited to 4 they filled up too fast for me to get in anything.

For a moment I almost cancelled the entire trip before I calmed down and decided to stay to my commitment of GMing.

If this policy is used in the future I may rethink going to PaizoCon and going to a convention I can actually properly plan for.
