Stealth Grapple: Can I avoid AoO?

Rules Questions

Basically, the character I want to grapple with is within a crowd of people and I want them to be grabbed from behind, but the enemy doing the grabbing does not have Grab or Improved Grapple.

Is there a way I can use stealth to stand in and prevent AoO, or... what's a good solution here?

Surprise round, flat footed = no AoO.

Oh, great! That helps a lot! Thanks!

Unless the opponent has Combat Reflexes.

well, #1 the target has to have a weapon in hand or unarmed strike otherwise it can't take advantage of the AoO.

The target has to perceive the attack, so if the target relies on sight and the attacker has Vanish spell going it can avoid the AoO.

Or uncanny dodge.

Stealth would be sufficient.
