PC Deity Clash

Advice

So I'm GM'ing a campaign starting soon and, I was having my players send me private messages about their characters beforehand. Some of the players wanted to keep details about their characters hidden until we start, so one player is a cleric of Lao Shu Po, while another worships Tsukiyo, and neither know that. Given the relationship of those two deities, I'm not sure if I'm excited to see this play out or if it could get in the way of the PCs even wanting to associate with each other or something. Thoughts?

It might very well be a problem. The first time either of them brandishes their (un)holy symbol, they are going to tip each other off to what god they worship (if both are clerics). Not to mention their morning/nightly prayers.

I suggest that you, as the GM, send each of the characters a 'dream' or vision from their respective deities and be given specific instructions to tolerate the presence of worshipers of other deities in the party, as the the mission they have been sent on is very important.

It's a straight up RP hook. I'd be excited.

Rule #2 is "whatever your character is, they need to have an interest in sticking with the party". As long as both know this, it's a great opportunity.
