Bonus Spells of a Level you Can't Cast?

Rules Questions

Futsing around with a Solar Bloodline Sorcerer, and while messing about with my spellbook app I noticed something.

You get Searing Light as a bonus spell at level 3, but it's a 3rd level spell, which means you can't cast it until 5?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

It’s a 1st level spell for solar bloodline sorcerers. Enjoy.

You get it when they say you get it regardless of when you'd normally have access. It could be a typo, but I doubt that
paizo is doing anymore errata.

The closest thing to a relevant FAQ and it backs up Lelomenia.

Huh, neat. So so Sorcs just get bonus spells in order then? Explains some of the wording from Crossblooded too about taking spells from lower-levels.

yeah, I had something similar happen with the oracle class. If you pick the Lich Curse you get the spell control undead as a 2nd level spell. It'd be crazy if it wasn't such a terrible 7th level spell.

Yes, you get that spell much earlier than normal. This happens with many archetypes and bloodlines.
