I'm currently DMing an Evil Gestalt campaign and I've been fighting the urge to create my own PC, but I've finally decided to make one. At first, I thought about a PC who would join/help the group, but I actually want to be sort of a recurring "anti-villain" character, similar to an anti-hero.
By anti-villain, I'm thinking that this person is mostly a nuisance, but does come in to help every once in a while (only when it's actually in his interest to help).
The group is lvl 6 and consists of a Thrallherd1 Dual-Discipline Psion5 (Telepath/Egoist)/Synthesist Summoner, a Centaur Cavalier (Charger Archetype)/Druid (Fire domain), a Gun Alchemist/Spy, a Juju Oracle/Gravewalker Witch (Animate Dead-focused Necromancer), and a Bard/Seducer Witch.
I'm definitely wanting this DM PC to be a psionic class of some kind (I'm thinking either Psychic Warrior or Cryptic, but I can be talked out of either) and something else, not really sure yet. This is a super-high powered group that absolutely incinerates anything I can throw at it and then it gets raised from the dead, so this character has to be survivable and have lots of viable escape options (I don't want to DM fiat this, I want it to be legit when he escapes when needed).
Anywho, I'd love to get some advice about this before I make him. 25pt buy, all 3rd party is available.

Since this is a NPC...lets do something super cheesy. Make one of the two classes a Witch. Have him belong to a coven with a Winter Hag so they can cast free simulacrum and then use those for the encounter with the NPC.
This also implies the actual NPC is twice their level. So he starts at 12th level which produces 6th level simulacrum.
Once they hit 11th level the NPC could gain the same 5 levels they did and through a bit of dimensional travel use Astral Projection to visit the party with very little risk to themselves until they notice the silver cord snaking out of the astral body.
A real plot twist would be to make the NPC be a native to a different prime material plane. Or have him inhabit a demiplane created by the coven. When he travels to the party he should make a bunch of comments on how primitive they are, how atrocious their fashion sense is, and generally pick on them for cultural differences. The character should seem odd from dress to manners to tastes.
Eventually he should show up with 5 or 6 of his simulacrum in tow who can either cast low level spells or aid the NPC to boost his caster level.

Btw, I really like this idea. I think I'd like to make this NPC almost like a Psion (Metacreativity)/Witch, not sure about what archetype though.
Now that I've been thinking about it for a bit, I'm thinking that this should be a "behind the scenes" sort of NPC. He's a bit of a nuisance, but he also helps out. Eventually, they'll get high enough level to do something about him, but there might be a few levels where this guy is an absolute pain in the rear :)
