If I had to explain it, outsiders are seen more as weird aliens in the time of starfinder, not so much embodiments of good and evil.
I don't think that having the alignment-based outsiders exist & downplaying alignment is at all mutually exclusive. Just a matter of saying that alignment only really matters, or at least matters much more, when dealing with these beings who are embodiment of it as opposed to dealing with flesh and blood mortals who are more complicated than that.
I'd be surprised if they came out with alignment-based connections though, they're downplaying alignment in Starfinder compared to Pathfinder.
But more connections would be welcome yeah.
They could do alignment-based connections while still downplaying alignment itself if they instead do it via aligned-planes-based connections. Could even allow some Ghost Rider type stuff, with for instance a CG Mystic drawing on the mystical power of Hell.

Using the other connections as examples, I think it'd be more along the lines of Pathfinder's oracle mysteries. There ARE elemental-themed mysteries like "Flame," "Stone," and even "Elemental," but there's also ones like "Occult," "Apocalypse," "Streets" and "Whimsy."
Given how a lot of the Mystic connections almost key perfectly to certain Oracle mysteries (i.e. Healer to Life, Akashic to Lore, Shadow to...well, Shadow), it wouldn't surprise me if future Mystic connections follow a similar pattern, so I don't imagine ones based on alignment would appear short of maybe being developed by 3rd parties.
