Is there a way to get the swarming racial trait?

Rules Questions

Outside of being a race that already gets the swarming racial trait (eg ratfolk) is there anyway to get it via feats, classes, spells, etc?

The only thing I've been able to find is mythic racial heritage. I would of figured one of the higher level polymorph spells could grant this ability but so far as I can tell it seems to be absent from the list of abilities you can acquire.

I think swarming is exclusive to ratfolk unless I'm missing something.

The Swarm Fighter gains a similar ability at the 5th and 9th levels, but it's not the "Swarming" racial trait and you get it rather late.

If the issue is a ratfolk in a party of other races wanting to take advantage of the swarming trait, the Scurrying Swarmer feat allows a Ratfolk to act as if another ally had the trait (and whatever teamwork feats you have).

There are other creatures that get the swarming trait, such as the giant termite. So, I know it's not something exclusive to ratfolk. Though they may be the only PC race (outside of building a custom race) that gets it.

I was mainly asking because I have a hunter and I saw the feat Rending Swarm which my hunter and his mount would benefit from while he's engaged in mounted combat. I haven't settled on his feats post 11th level and I know I'll be getting half a dozen or so teamwork feats. In this particular case the character is eligible for the aforementioned mythic racial heritage, I was just wondering if there was an easier way to achieve this.

I agree that swarm fighter gets a similar ability but it wouldn't meet the pre-req for the feat I want.

only thing i can think of is the unchained summoner eidolon, one of the types (Ancestor) get the summoner's racial traits so a ratfolks eidolon would get the ratfolk swarmin racial ability.

also notice that unlike normal mosnter swarming ability the ratfolk specificly call out swarmin with other ratfolks so it might not work with anything but a ratfolk (or that magic item that summon rats that get to swarm as if they were ratfolk with the ratfolk swrming ability)

If you are running Mythic, then being Human, half Orc, or half Elf and taking Racial Heritage (Ratfolk) + Mythic Racial Heritage would do it. That's about the only way I know of, however, outside of a custom race with the Race Point rules and a lenient GM.

That's fine, I was just hoping I'd overlooked something.

Note that you also need the Rat Stack feat as a prerequisite for Rending Swarm.

Yep, thankfully it's a teamwork feat. The present character build gets 9 of those and I've only settled on 3 so far.
