PF2 PRD drops on Day 1: August 1, 2019 @ 7am PST

How can we be sure this refers to the PRD itself and not merely the day PF2 arrives ?
Still I greatly appreciate your efforts in this thread :-)
I see the possible ambiguity. I think it's far more likely that this refers to PF2 "coming soon" to and "arriving" on that webpage: 2e.aonprd.com
(1) Because that's what I expect when I navigate to a url and find a landing page saying "coming soon" on X date; (2) because of the specific url; (3) because of the specific timestamp, which doesn't make as much sense for a physical book release; (4) because an announcement on AON for non-AON content is redundant and unnecessary.
But save it as a "just so we're sure" clarification question for the next developer Q&A I guess, if you want to be extra sure!
And for now let's take discussion elsewhere!

No need to ask anyone, as per the base Archives of Nethys site it absolutely will be up online at the listed time.
Here's the quote (emphasis mine):
Lastly, a question that continues to come up is whether or not we will be doing a website for 2E - I am very happy to announce that not only will we be doing a website for Pathfinder 2nd Edition, but we will have it online at 2e.aonprd.com on August 1, 2019 at 7:00 AM (Pacific Time)! Look forward to it then, and thanks for all of your support!

On Tarrasque thing, it absolutely makes sense to me that it would/should be covered parallel with other Deity Avatars and/or multiple Rovagug Spawn which seem enough of a setting meta-topic to deserve exposition as a group along with unique examples. Avatars as a whole seem like they could/should have Avatar-specific rules/fluff which a single entry for Tarrasque really isn't the place for. Also related is the various sub-Avatar Deity-affiliated monsters (I forget if there is specific name for this).
Phrasing it as "why aren't they including just 1 Avatar of random Deity and no others in B1" cuts more to the chase of why they aren't IMHO. So basically, given this has all been given very specific framing within Golarion, expecting Tarrasque and only Tarrasque in B1 seems like persisting in D&D/3.x expectation ignoring what has been built up around them in Pathfinder/Golarion.

Also, James Jacobs confirms that there will be an Age of Ashes Player's Guide that will launch the on day 1 along with everything else.

Oblivion Oath Episode 5 is a juicy one in terms of rules. @nick1wasd in the Twitch chat was entirely correct to say that "Joe M is going to be a happy boy with this stream." The rules reveal thread picks up (after a looooong sidetrack) with discussion HERE

I know you well by the looks of it :P Have there been any non-OO forums that have had incidental rule reveals? I think they've happened, it's just super rare because everyone now has an outlet for spoilers

I've linked everything I'm aware of. It's been pretty much just Oblivion Oath since that started, though.
I expect it'll stay that way for a few more weeks. I'm guessing we'll start seeing more substantial preview at and after PaizoCon (May 24–27th).

Do we know if the skill abilities are going to deliver on the original promises of some truly mythic feats of prowess?
Technically? No. All revelations post-playtest have been stuff characters can do at 1st level (which are appropriately cool, but not mythic by any means).
It seems pretty likely based on the nature of the playtest feedback, but we have no actual information to support it.

Confirmation of what we all knew—that we should expect a lot of juicy information from PaizoCon (Friday 24 May to Monday 27 May).
Paizocon...
It begins...
Definitely expect PaizoCon to be full of exciting news that will translate over to our other media platforms in various forms though. I'm pretty sure Know Direction is also going to be livestreaming a bunch of our panels (and the banquet, as usual), so watching their channel is likely to be a way to get the latest news ASAP if you're not going to be attending PaizoCon.
And yes, Know Direction will be livestreaming PaizoCon panels on the Paizo Twitch:
We’re excited to announce that Paizo and @knowdirection will be partnering to bring #PaizoCon and #GenCon seminars to you live on the OfficialPaizo Twitch channel.

Your best bet will be to check in Saturday Night during the show and Sunday during midday for any big news since a goodly portion of the industry takes that night "off" to network, socialize and relax a bit but I do expect a decent amount of info to drip out of the Glass Cannon Game as well as significantly more during the Banquet.

For reference, the banquet takes place Saturday 25 May @ 7pm PST. Here are some other events that seem likely to reveal interesting information about PF2 rules, from a quick skim of the schedule. All times PST:
## FRIDAY 24 MAY ##
10:00a. Glass Cannon #1
12:00p. Actual Play w/ Liane Merciel & Wayne Reynolds
04:00p. Design Team: Moving On From The Playtest
## SATURDAY 25 MAY ##
10:00a. Glass Cannon #2
02:00p. The Future of Pathfinder
07:00p. PREVIEW BANQUET
## SUNDAY 26 MAY ##
11:00a. Glass Cannon #3
02:45p. Design Team: The Philosophy Behind Second Edition
02:45p. Creative Team: The Future of Paizo

#Paizocon2019 is just 1 WEEK away! We know you have been waiting for more news on Pathfinder Second Edition, and Paizocon is where it all begins!
I am going to post up my entire schedule soon, but until then, if you want to see me talking or showing off the game, make sure to set aside some time for the 3-day gaming event with @erikmona and the @glasscannonpod, and be sure to follow what happens at the banquet!

And the picture of the glass cannon character sheets in this tweet shows that they'll be playing at level 7. So that'll be a nice break from the level-1 slog of Oblivion Oath.
Also shows:
* Rock Dwarf
* Gutsy Halfling
* Woodland Elf
* A half-orc
* Miner, Gambler, and Noble backgrounds
* CG Champion, Sorcerer

Repost. It was actually a bad link to an account that was not the Glass Cannon. Usual problem with posts being autoposted from one site to another, where the screen names might be different.

The fact that it says human (half-orc) on the sheet reminds me of one of the things I don't really like about PF2.
I like it, personally, but I know you're far from alone there!
However, if we want to get into that or any other discussion, let's take it to a different thread so that we can keep this one focused on linking to new information

Alright, I've located the PaizoCon streaming schedule thanks to the Know Direction Discord. I'll reproduce the whole thing here, with panels that seem especially relevant to the rules-focus of this thread highlighted in bold. All times PST.
However, I also wanted to let everyone know that I'll be winding down my forum presence in the next few weeks, and will no longer maintain this thread. I'm going into a particularly busy patch in my life and won't have time to keep up with things here. It's been great!

Everything shown on OfficialPaizo's Twitch is available in their videos section within a day or so at most. I think I've only ever managed to watch one thing on that channel live.
And you're quite welcome, I'm always happy to be of assistance. :)

Spoiler card 54 Weapon Legend... it appears Exotic Weapons might now be called Advanced Weapons. Interesting :)
A good change. "Exotic" has connotations of "this is hard to find, or not from here", which is a weird thing to put in the rules for a game where "here" changes a lot. In practice we just want these weapons to be harder to use or less familiar than other weapons.
I guess advanced has issues where it connotes "technological advancement" whereas a weapon in the category might just have a bunch of hinges and be on fire, but I guess at least the training to use it is advanced.

I wished for "Complex" as opposed to "Simple", but I can tolerate "Advanced" :-)

The Raven Black wrote:I wished for "Complex" as opposed to "Simple", but I can tolerate "Advanced" :-)Advanced also has the advantage of being consistent with Starfinder, which has pretty much every melee soldier wanting to use Advanced Melee Weapons.
that doesnt seem like a useful advantage, given the systems have significantly diverged.
Advanced in starfinder implies tech (laser sword vs metal sword) advanced here... rather implies cultural superiority, unfortunately.

I'm not really sure it does since like "longswords" and "battleaxes" are advanced melee in Starfinder, whereas a microfilament garrote is a basic melee weapon.
But just having parallel construction on "the best class of weapons is called advanced" is beneficial, I think.

Advanced weapons will need to be pretty good to overcome that 2 point proficiency detriment. Hard to imagine them being worth it unless it's a cultrual weapon that you can treat as martial
Playtest fighters had a feat that let them treat a specific exotic weapon as martial or something like that right? In addition to cultural weapons there are probably dedications you can take which similarly give you the same for a weapon specific to the club you joined- like if you become a red mantis assassin you gain the ability to treat sawtooth sabres as martial.

Your right fighter's had an option for that as well. And who knows about dedications. Still if they aren't boosted from the playtest version proficiency with advanced weapons would be a red herring since having 2 less accuracy would make them strictly worse than martial weapons even with another trait or damage die size.
You really need the feat to treat them as martial for advanced weapons to be worth it. Just speculation at this point though I guess since we haven't seen any weapon stats.
