Leveled up!
I did go with TWF. Right now the bite attack doesn't do good damage, but I am looking at using it to trip people, which it's pretty good for. I'm also getting sneak attack next level, which rewards more attacks.
I switched out the three Archon Style feats for Outslig Style, Outslug Weave, and Greater Trip. This lets me take 10' of movement on a 5' step and makes my trips more likely to succeed and much worse to receive. I'm looking at the improved mobility because I want to be better at setting up sneak attacks with Beachhead, especially since I get a sneak attack die next level.
GM_of_the_Heads |
That's fine with me--Archon Style was hard for me to track (sorry).
GM_of_the_Heads |
Everyone ready for the dawn of the next day? :D

You have to be a disciplined warrior following an ancient, vaguely Eastern tradition to know the secret way of the high five.
-OR-
We're talking about five teeth. Beachhead and Tomorbataar are basically kissing when they high five.

I'll be on vacation on 6th October to 9th October to hike in the jungle.
I will have very limited internet access during those days, since there is no wifi in the jungle and only when I am at my room in guesthouse at night and in the morning will I have internet access(which is likely to be spotty), so my apologies in advance.
Ziphora |
Thanks. I will. Might even get to see a Tapir up close :)
I am pretty calm around animals and don't screech or yell if they get close. One of my hobbies is animal photography.
GM_of_the_Heads |
Hmmm... should I just speed you along to returning to the fort at this point?
Tomorbataar |
Yeah, I'm in favor of that. Not sure how eventful the few days will be but uh...they probably won't be eventful.
Grash "Warhead" Varazson |
Yeah, that's fine. Grash will, of course, tell long rambling epics during the trip that inexplicably prevent the involved parties from getting tired from hustling all day.
Ziphora |
For those of you who haven’t heard, I just finished GMing Reign of Winter in less then a year. I guess its unbecoming to brag ;)
Now I’m GMing Strange Aeons…
Ziphora |
Thank you. But to be honest I was rather tough on both myself and my players. I.e whipping both sides hard.
I will also tell you I suffer from PBP ADHD :P
So I sort of always have to be doing something.
Tomorbataar |
Impressive, let me know if you're ever recruiting.
In other news, next week is the week before fall break. I might slow down, and then I'll speed up a lot.

Does anyone remember what page your promised rewards from Sir Torlgrith are on? Or what the rewards were? I seem to have forgotten.

Your hide is too thick for normal leeches.
Hydras can swim, but in most swamps the water is shallow enough that you just wade while keeping your heads above the water.
Ziphora |
I had several. Yes you can salt them and burn them with cigarettes or poke them with a sharp object. The problem is you're trying to push through the mud so you don't stay around too long and attract more leeches(which taking things out of your inventory does), so the best you get is you hook your thumb into a claw and attempt to claw it off, puncturing it if necessary. The thin ones are harder to claw then the fat ones and after they come off, they still try to bite your finger, so you need to shake em off/blow them off or fling them as far away as you can.
They are surprisingly hard to stomp on the ground and you can stomp them without effect. I gave up after a while.
Was in Taman Negara.
How do you know you have a leech on you? When you feel around your shin and feel something soft and slimy. Then you should roll up your pants and check for leeches.
GM_of_the_Heads |
No problem! This game has some built-in tolerance for people going missing for brief time periods.
Is anyone responding to Sir Torlgrith right now?
Tomorbataar |
Hey sorry I didn't post this week. I thought I'd mentioned that I wouldn't be, but I guess not in this game.
Anyway, I'll be posting abundantly over the next ten or so days.

Well, it increased American spinach consumption by a third!
And if you have little kids who don't want to eat their greens...
Tomorbataar |
I'm a little kid who doesn't want to eat my greens.
Well, I guess not anymore actually, but uh...on the inside.
*Posting to all my games*
Hey all, I don't know what you do with your free time, but one of the things you might do is use youtube. Youtube is a great site full of lots of awesome communities and good informational content.
When I say this, I think in particular of a set of youtubers who discuss military history, use of weapons, HEMA, and related topics. There are a number of great channels run by interesting and knowledgeable people which have taught me a lot and made my life more interesting. Today, one of those youtubers had their channel shut down without warning because of a years-old video about japanese firepots. Apparently it was misinterpreted as some sort of instructional video for terrorists.
If you're at all interested in weapons, history, or the free flow of information, please sign this petition. Here's a video by another youtuber on the topic.
Thanks.

I hate guns and explosives so I won't sign. I think they make killing too easy.
My opinion is that America would have saved themselves a lot of grief, and many many lives, had they banned guns right from the start and not enshrined it in their constitution on the right to bear arms.
The Columbine shootout was one example. How easy is it to get guns in America and go on a shooting rampage because you're not happy with your life?
I don't mind medieval weaponry, but it's not a must watch for me, either. I rather sit around and watch lets plays of computer games.
Eh I can't live without my greens. I'm not vegetarian per se but yeah I can't go too long without my fruits and veggies. I get the urge to eat moar meat when I feel stressed.
Tomorbataar |
That's fine, no pressure. I agree that it's too easy to get guns in America.
And just to be clear, I've never seen a gun on the channel that was shut down. The firepots were a variety used in the 13th century, I'd imagine it was pretty hard to kill people with them, otherwise they'd probably have seen more widespread use. The channel was more concerned with experimental archeology. This means, for example, determining if a game should let you stab through chainmail with a sword by stabbing chainmail with a sword in real life. Which incidentally it should almost never do, because chainmail is really good at not getting stabbed through.
I think the main concern, though, would be with youtube censoring some information and not others. Like it or not, youtube is far larger than any other similar site, so it ends up being an important way that information spreads. It has the right to censor any channel it wants to, but we consumers have the right to try to prevent that.
When, for example, youtube took down a video about japanese atrocities in the second world war because it considered it hate speech, enough consumers voiced their opinions and got that video restored. And doing something like glossing over japanese atrocities committed in the second world war is obviously a huge deal, unless you think that the study of history is completely useless. Which you might, and you're entitled to that opinion, but I think there's quite a bit that can be learned from the past and quite a bit about the present that can't be understood without understanding history, and it's harder to understand history if we let youtube control the information that is easily and readily accessible to the public.
Anyway, again, no pressure. I won't think less of you if you disagree with me.

About peeking at spoilers? As a GM I do not really care so long as you keep it separate from what you know and what your character knows. Some players are curious as cats, really.

I've heard that if you use the word smurf in a post, the avatar for that post will be a smurf.
...this post is a test.
