Attacking with object grasped by whip

Rules Questions

Is there a feat or other ability that allows for one to attack with an object grasped by a whip? The only reference I can find to that ability is in Improved Whip Mastery, and that expressly forbids such an action.

I was told that Greater Whip Mastery has this option, but I'm not seeing it there.

I don't think that's a thing.

If you wanted to try it anyway, it'd be extremely situational and subject to GM fiat. For example, if a player at my table grasped a flail-head-sized rock with their whip and tried to attack with it, I'd treat the result as an improvised flail that would likely detach into rock and whip after the first strike.

You know, I could swear Amethyst did this on a Steven Universe episode. Perhaps a genre crossconnect?

I couldn't even imagine what bonuses would apply here, so it is most unlikely the Devs would open such a can of worms.

In this scenario, I am the GM. I'm just accustomed to playing with Rules Lawyers and Power Gamers, so I wanted to make sure that what I was doing had a solid foundation upon which to rely.

Yeah, that's an improvised weapon for sure. I'd treat that as a flail with 15ft reach and -4 to hit.

First off Catch Off Guard to get over the Improvised Weapon bit. Then also look to the sling Feat Sling Flail which lets you hold the ammo of a sling in the leather cup and wield the device like a flail. Using these 2 Feats you could device a mechanic by which a player could consistently use their whip to take hold of an object and wield it at the Reach of a whip.

I don't see how sling flail applies, since a whip is not a sling....

I think it was meant for comparison in the event of a homebrew.
