I started reading the AP13: Fire Starters (Dawn of Flame 1/6) PDF last week and just got the physical book, getting psyched for running this for society - and maybe access to some of the equipment! Also, Ifrit race boons?

Are chronicle sheets and/or Additional Resources in the pipeline?

I'll be running it as well starting next month, though one of the AP authors is in my group so I hope to have him run his book ...

So many APs, so little time.

In the pipeline, however some delays due to the convention season crunch. As usual at this time of year, we've got essentially two months worth of scenarios that have to be done a month earlier (for PaizoCon/Origins) and then an interactive special on top of that.

So, once I get a better handle on all that work, I'll take some time to get the Dawn of Flame material sanctioned.

Not to put the pressure on but for the purposes of con scheduling - is it reasonable or unreasonable to expect it to be sanctioned by May?

⦵⦵

Starfinder Superscriber

Is it legal to go ahead and start the AP before it's sanctioned and back-fill the chronicles/reporting whenever the sanctioning goes live? I think I read that that was kosher back before DS4-6 got sanctioned, but I'd like to know for sure in case this comes up whenever I get my group going on DoF.

It depends on a lot of internal factors and some external ones. Ideally I'd like to get it done by then (at least the first batch of adventures) but I don't want to officially commit to a timeline and set myself up for angry players in the future.

Until the file is out: proceed at own peril.

When we were discussing Aeon Throne an important point was made: once a PC begins playing an adventure, it can't be played in another adventure until the chronicle sheet is issued.

.. though running in campaign mode is likely safe.

Dataphiles 4/5 ⦵⦵

Personally, I'd prefer that the sanctioned chronicles for all 6 books come out at once. If that means it takes a little longer, I'm fine with that.

1/5 ⦵⦵⦵⦵

Starfinder Superscriber

Normally I'd disagree with you, its good to get the first chronicle sheet out early - especially if the first book is repeatable.

... but in this case the timing may just work out if the chronicle sheets land around PaizoCon. At least for us, since Portland is so close to Seattle many of our regulars go and play two months scenarios in one weekend.

Just checking on the status of the chronicle sheets... I know convention season, and so many things to do, but I was wondering if there may be an updated time frame?

Will these chronicle sheets be available soon? I've been dying to run this and I would like to start in June. hoot hoot

Sovereign Court ⦵⦵⦵

Convention season runs through August ... so might not get them for a bit.

Just checking in, though I'm aware we're in between Origins and Gencon, so totally fine if everyone's still busy-but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask ^^;

Sovereign Court 4/5 ⦵⦵⦵⦵

It has been a month, that is a reasonable amount of time to ask again.

Update: I'm in the process of finishing up some remaining scenarios that need to get out to other departments ASAP. Following that, I'll be evaluating some other priority items, such as sanctioning and additional resources for a few things that have slipped behind. Right now, there's 3 major items that I need to figure out the best way to tackle, and I consider sanctioning one of those items!

Thanks, Thursty!

I've been really looking forward to running Dawn of Flame, especially now that the last books are starting to come out and a GM can start reading from beginning to end. Still, I know it's convention season. Your updates are most appreciated!

Just look at the delay positively - if it takes longer to sanction the AP, there will be less time between when you start to run it and when the pawn collection is released.

Grand Lodge 5/5 ⦵⦵⦵ Venture-Captain, Online—PbP aka Hmm

That would be great. I love those pawn collections!

Is it little hats? I think everyone appreciates an AP with little hats.

So now that gencon is over... pushed back how far?

I'm finishing it up this week. It'll then go on to the necessary art and layout components. No ETA on that side yet, but just wanted to provide the update.

Although I'm not typically able to discuss all the particulars of "what I'm working on" or "why things are late" I did want to address a bit of the delay on Dawn of Flame.

Several months ago, during the height of convention season prep, I knew that Dawn of Flame would be delayed. There was a short window I could have got it done in advance, but I was presented with another task I've been really wanting to do since coming onboard: outlining the full season in advance.

So while Dawn of Flame hit the backburner (bad pun, sorry) I did manage to get almost all of Season 2 outlined. This means that in the coming weeks, we'll be seeing product pages going up for Season 2 well in advance, as well as getting adventures assigned to freelancers well in advance so we can (hopefully) avoid some of the tougher crunch portions of the year. I've already provided our Venture-Officers with breakdowns on the entirety of Season 2 so they'll be able to plan out conventions all the way through to May 2020.

Basically, while Dawn of Flame suffered a longer sanctioning period than we're used to in Starfinder Society, it came with the benefit of letting the Organized Play team claw ahead on the main scenario releases. So thanks for understanding!

So even though the Additional Resources page hasn't been updated, when you go to the Dawn of Flame Adventure Path page it says the AP is sanctioned and provides a link to the rules and chronicle sheet "as a free download" (spoiler, obviously).

Thursty! Thanks so much for the Dawn of Flame sanctioning! The sheets are awesome!

Should Firestarters be a repeatable? It is missing the repeatable language in the sanctioning document if it was intended to be.

I was wondering the same.

We've run AP1 and AP7 (and Quests: ItU, 1-01, 1-12, 1-16, 1-25, 1-32, and 2-03) so many times - it'd be nice to have AP13 added to the pool.

Adventure 1 should be repeatable. This is on my end and I keep forgetting it, likely due to the delay between sanctioning runs.

First time playing an AP - my party is about to play DoF now that it's sanctioned. Since we are all still pretty new to Starfinder/Pathfinder we are trying to figure out what the party size is meant to be for this AP as written. Is it four or six PCs. I know the scenarios are meant for six but seemed like this might be meant for four without adjustment?
