Interest check: ADnD mini-adventure

Recruitment

Im currently unpacking some boxes in my basement and i came across my first set of RPG books, ADnD 2.5. It got me thinking of how awesome it was to play with my friends late friday night and into sunday mornings. But, its going on 20 years since ive DMd a ADnD game. so i thought id ask on here and see if anyone would be interested in doing a short dungeon delve using ADnD ruleset. Since its been 20 years, i dont remember squat (aside from the term THAC0, but forget how to determine it :), so itd be a 1st level adventure, use only the core rulebooks, and be rather rules lite.

So, anyone interested?

Possible, what kind of posting rate are you looking for?

once every other day. nothing to awe inspiring.

I would love to, but last time I tried to wrap my mind around the mechanics I gave up. But... starting at first level should be an easy enough way to learn... Is there a 2.5e reference site? Time to scour the web.

Been a long time since I've played AD&D myself. It was what introduced me to this back in college. I'd be up for something.

I wouldn´t mind to join ;-)
Those were the days!

I did some looking and the only thing I could find was the first link here. Would this work for me creating a character?

Very Interested.

holy crap! people are interested! cool!

alright well, lets start with the obvious, dice rolls. let's do 4d6 drop the lowest. And ill figure out the next step by perusing my books, lol.

Fortibus Favet
4d6 - 3 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 5) - 3 = 12
4d6 - 6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 6) - 6 = 18
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 5) - 1 = 15
4d6 - 3 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 3) - 3 = 18
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 5) - 2 = 13
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 2, 5, 3) - 2 = 10
Well Fortibus favors!
18; 18; 15;13;12;10
Social Class: 1d100 ⇒ 99
Birth Number: 1d100 - 15 ⇒ (42) - 15 = 27

4d6 - 1 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 6) - 1 = 11
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 1) - 1 = 12
4d6 - 3 ⇒ (3, 4, 4, 6) - 3 = 14
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 5) - 1 = 12
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 2) - 2 = 11
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 1) - 1 = 8

14, 12, 12, 11, 11, 8

Hummm... thats rough to see when the first guy who rolls gets 2 18s and a 15. Lol.

I’ll figure something out.

Definitely interested. It's been a long time, as others have said.
Do you plan to run an old module or something home brewed?

Also, what exactly is AD&D 2.5? The Core Rules are essentially the original 2nd edition rules, right? I've got those, but not the later reissues.

What races are allowed?
What classes?

I am thinking of doing a Dwarven Fighter or Fighter/Cleric.

Trying to figure it all out using that document I had previously posted.

4d6: 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 1) - 1 = 8
4d6: 4d6 - 3 ⇒ (6, 4, 3, 4) - 3 = 14
4d6: 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 1) - 1 = 3
4d6: 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 4) - 1 = 12
4d6: 4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 2) - 2 = 8
4d6: 4d6 - 1 ⇒ (5, 2, 3, 1) - 1 = 10

Ok that is truly awful.

@Trawets71 I think everyone is going to feel that way after seeing Helikon’s stats... lol

I'm not comparing to his stats. I rolled a 3 and two 8s. I'm not sure you can even play with a 3.

I am sure the GM won´t mind give you a reroll for truly abmyssal stats.

Liberty's Edge

Sounds like fun. Let’s see what the dice gods have in store for me!!

4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 4, 6) = 18 = 14
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 5) = 16 = 15
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 2) = 10 = 09
4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 1) = 14 = 13
4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 6, 4) = 12 = 11
4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 3, 3) = 16 = 13

Not too bad. I am sure I can build something good out of that!!

Oh man. I read that 3 as a 13... yeah I don’t think any stat would be doable as a 3...
