For me, it's about spells that don't really fit. This is going to be partly subjective, but I base it on things spells that seem to encroach on the Druid's support roll or spells that seem too much like straight manipulation of the Weave and less like someone who is simply tapping into Nature. Tree Shape (feels like Druid encroachment here)

So again, slightly more than 1/3 of the spells.

Could you just not pick the spells that don't fit your idea of the class. It seems needlessly limiting to what other might want to do with it to be so restrictive. For example my ideal casting ability for a Ranger would include Detect Poison, Longstrider, Magic Fang, Mending and Negate Aroma.

Not really sure I get your mindset. In a class based system, restrictions are crucial. Making sure the Ranger doesn't encroach on the Druid is as important as making sure the Druid doesn't encroach on the Cleric.

Honestly though, I don't think Paizo is going with spells, so this is probably moot.

And that list of spells are the ones I would omit, not include.

Those are the spells you would omit? Wait i am confused half of those spells weren't available for rangers or druids were it?

Edit: Oh now i got it... I was talking about ranger spells from first edition you thought i was talking about playtest spells.
