I don't know about you, but if I joined a new forum, wrote up a long post, and then had the page refresh only for it to vanish entirely, I'd probably never visit that forum again.
The post does go through, and usually appears with a second refresh, BUT NEW PEOPLE DONT KNOW THAT!
Why hasn't this bug been fixed yet? It's likely driving new people away.

I suspect the reason is the same as the reason behind the other outstanding bugs. The Paizo forums/webstore/internal computer system is one big, complicated, interconnected system of cobbled together subsystems, patches and gradually implemented new features. When they change one thing, it's not always clear to them what the flow-on effects of that change will be. As I understand things, the commercially available solutions don't incorporate all of the features Paizo's in-house developed system does.
Personally, I find the phenomenon of discussion pages not taking me to the new post but rather to the cut-in-half first post on the last page much more frustrating. There are threads I'm interested that I just don't bother following anymore.
It seems to me it's been a while since the last 'major' update. I'm hoping there's a bunch of fixes just about to roll through the system. I could imagine they'd want everything sorted out well before the new card game launches in May and the new RPG launches in August. Both of those will no doubt result in a large influx of new users.
