OUTPOST II -- GM Recruitment!

EVENT #Event 2691381
Reporting Link: https://pbpgameday.com/reporting.php
When: March 11th - May 6th, 2019

★ ---- ★ ---- ★ ---- ★

Hey Gang!

We’re excited to announce our return of Outpost. This year, we’ll not only be continuing Season Ten for PFS, but also finishing Solstice Scar and continuing our Starfinder explorations! We are also open to GMs running sessions of the Playtest adventures if they wish.

GM signups open today. We will be assigning GMs to their scenarios and then having a signup spreadsheet for players that will open later. If there’s something special you want to GM for Outpost II, you must let us know in our GM Questionnaire.

If you need scenario support, you must must complete our GM questionnaire by January 18th.

GM SIGNUPS HERE: GM Signup Form

Is more information coming about how to sign up as a player? You bet! But we need to recruit our GMs first!

Is this all online?

Besides Solstice Scar X is there a list of the scenarios that you are shooting for (so folks know if what they want to play is a special case or not)?

1/5

Great! looking forward to OP2!

We're looking at specializing in Season 10 for PFS, but are open to some classic scenarios that link to current Season 10 offerings, late Season 9 scenarios, or anything with an "End of the World Theme."

If you really want something that is not late Season 9 or Season 10, you will want to suggest it to us.

Hmm

3/5

If we're already running for a group (such as a long-term campaign or a duology/trilogy) are we allowed to run and report scenarios under the OutPost II banner provided they begin and end during the appropriate time frame? I know this is allowed for PbP Gameday but I wasn't sure if it would be the same for OutPost or not since OutPost has a theme whereas the Gamedays are usually 'run what you want' affairs.

Lantern Lodge 4/5 5/5

Yay!

Looking forward to this. I take it there is just the one MTS event happening this time?

We are thinking that there will be only one. If that changes... Do you want me to notify you, Aerondor?

Put it in your GM form and go into detail. If it at all fits the theme, we might allow it. If it does not fit the the theme, we'll say no.

Hmm

3/5

^Understood. I'll have to give things a think, then. Thanks for the quick response!

5/5 *****

The end page says thank you for your interest in GM'ing at Retrocon.

That's because I cannot figure out how to change that while in mobile. I'll try to fix it later today when I'm on a real computer.

I can now definitively answer this.

Roll for Combat joined us too late as a lodge to be able to run SFS 1-99 for PBP Gameday. So they have requested that they can do a small run of SFS 1-99 that is entirely on their Play-by-Discord channel. If you wish to participate in that run as a GM, you need to resubmit your GM questionnaire (indicate SFS 1-99 on RFC in scenarios you want to run) and talk to Glen Parnell (aka Masked Ferret) who will be overseeing and picking the team.

No GM does both specials. As a GM you must pick either 8-99C or SFS 1-99. Only GMs who are familar with RFC are likely to get selected for the latter, but it is Glenn's call.

Before I put my name in to GM - two quick questions.

This would be my first PbP GM session, is that okay?
Can I start a week late? I'll be on a boat until 3/16.

Grand Lodge 4/5 5/55/55/55/5 **** Venture-Captain, Minnesota

THREE THINGS:

1) Please replace my earlier mention of 8-99 C with 8-99 D. That was a typo!

First timers are welcome. We won't take you for the special -- we have a rule that we want people to GM something else in PBP before we hand them a special -- but you are welcome to GM something else!

As for starting a week late, if you do that I would like you to muster your table early, so that you can let them know about your later start date. Make your new start date clear to everyone. Losing a week can be a big deal, so that means that you'd need to keep a much tighter pace throughout the rest of the convention so that your table can end on time.

Do you think you could keep a faster pace going during the rest of the convention?

No worries with the special, running it once was enough for me :)

Mustering early and moving quickly won't be a problem. I'm already on-line all day during the week.

4/5

How would one fill out the form, if you just wanted to Gm for the special (or backup GM for the same).

I've a particular thing about GMing things I've not played before... and I've played nothing at all from season 10 =)

Grand Lodge 4/5 5/55/55/55/5 **** Venture-Captain, Minnesota

Tell us that in the notes, and fill out as normal.

Hmm

EM, we also may add some early season games that fit our theme. If you provide PFS tracker info and say you only want to GM something you have already played, we can look at the tracker to see what that leaves available.

Hey, thanks! It doesn't look like anything on that list is up on the docket for my long-term games (or at least not in a time frame consistent with OutPost) but that's okay! Still planning to sign up to GM a little no matter what :)

Silly, Jack! Play-by-Post is the format, not the location. Of course we're playing on Paizo's forume! We're also going to be having gaes on Mythweavers, RPGgeek, and Roll for Combat Discord.

Ah, I misread Christine's comment.

That's easy to do. Alas, I'd blame all my typos on posting on my phone, but I actually type better there. So instead I'll blame having a five year old in the house -- I'm dashing on and not double-checking my writing.

Signed up to GM!

Dark Archive 4/5

Happy to help out. I have signed up!

4/5 ****

Signed up as well. I'll take whatever you all want to give me. Even the 12-15 if you all want.

2/5

Signed up and happy to run any season if you need it.

I have also signed up.

Grand Lodge 2/5 *

I singed up as well.

Dark Archive 4/5 ***

Signed up. First time GMing a PbP, playing my first PbP game at the moment. GMed a lot more IRL, though, just need to learn the new format.
I wrote that I'd prefer lower tiers, but I can do any tier if need be.

3/5

Pretty sure I signed up, have any further emails been sent?

Silver Crusade 3/5 5/5 Venture-Lieutenant, Online—PbP

No, GMs will not have received anything from us yet.

3/5

ok cool. looking forward to helping out =)

Outpost GMs should have been emailed by me today. If you did not receive an email, let me know!

Hmm

I'm confused, is there a mastersheet we have to sign into or another link?
Step one says find your games on outpost here in the email with no clickable link.

edit: found it, it is at the top of the email.

So, there are apparently no CORE tables of 8-99D?

This greatly saddens me, as it will mean that Alaric cannot finish the series.

4/5 5/55/55/55/5 ****

The good news is that a small core run 8-99D could likely be scheduled outside a convention with no boon support after Outpost. There is no convention requirement for the 8-99 series.

Hmm

Grand Lodge 5/5 5/5

Just to add one more voice; Thran would also like to play 8-99D in Core - just so he will have played all 4 versions and finished the entire story line. So if a small core run would be scheduled that would make Thran very happy - along with Alaric I suspect ;)

2/5

I would guess the bigger problem with running Core 8-99 is getting enough in tier for a proper table(s). I've got a tier 12-15 Core table (10-9 The Rasping Rebirth) and not sure I'm going to get enough people to sign up to even run it. I don't know anyone that has a seeker level core character. Not sure I even want to fill the table because Mythic bad guy is going to be deadly for a Core character.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Echoing Alaric and Thran, here. A 5-6 Core 8-99D table would, I think, fill up pretty quickly--at least, based on how many of us were together through the previous parts at lower tiers.

Well, I can say that we've played 3 of 4 parts together, Tere, Thran and I. I can guarantee we have a table, likely at 3-4 (unless Tere and Thran are leveling to 5 soon).

@HMM is it possible that we could recruit an additional GM, or talk one of the 3-4 GMs (Cwethan currently is clear of signups) into playing.

I'll make sure we have a table of 6!

Will we finish Retrocon's Legacy of Stonelords before the start date of Outpost (March 11)?

Grand Lodge 4/5 5/55/55/55/5 ****

@GM Scott: Yes, Retrocon should be done before Outpost starts.

I have a seeker core character and I know there are a few more out there playing online. I may be able to corall some players.
