Liberty's Edge

I am running a table that finished Crypt of the Everflame and is currently playing the Masks of the Living God. The City of Golden Death is the third part of the adventure path but I read a lot of online comments that say the module is pretty challenging. I am thinking about skipping it in favor for one or two other adventures set in the same area, either Trouble in Tamran or Peril of the Pirate Pact. Are there any opinions on those adventures?

After that, Rise of the Rinelords might be a good follow-up. Would skipping the first adventure and starting with the second cause too much trouble? RotRL seems to be very popular. Plus, I like all the extra materials that go with it. Makes it very easy for me!

One of the players is also developing a side story/quest about reclaiming the throne that his brother stole. Are there any modules or parts of modules that might help ease me into making my own story? I have never had to create anything home brewed in Glorian. I don't have any solid ideas yet but adventures that include fighting against a generic tyrant with an infiltration component or maybe some demagoguery aspect(inspiring a mob to overthrow the tyrant) would be helpful!

The Immortal Conundrum is a good PFS scenarios to follow up the trilogy.

I'd check out Tyrants Grasp as it deals with Tar Baphon.
