Still improving?
My fever came back Thursday, and today it's been intermittent, so I'm warping that into a positive indication I'm approaching the end of this stupid stuff. The vertigo that started earlier this week was especially troublesome today, though. I wisely stayed home, even though I wanted to drive out and grab something to eat. Driving while the interior of your car feels like it's spinning around you on both its X and Y axes simultaneously isn't worth a Little Caesar's Hot n' Fast pepperoni no matter how awesome the coupon is.

The Earth even opened up a hole in the ozone layer to try to kill them, but noooo, we had to fix it. People! Nature is about balance!

At Big Chain Pharmacy™ just now -
Me: "Ma'am, where are your restrooms?"
Her: "The restrooms are not currently open to the public. I'm sorry."
Me: "Ma'am, this is an emergency."
Her: "I understand, but..."
Me: "Ma'am..." (Here I proceeded to tell her, in exacting, eye-popping, and horrific detail, what was going to happen to the bags of Funyons behind me on the shelf if she refused me entry into the restroom).
Her: "Just go right through there, sir. Good luck."
The pen is mightier than the sword, but words are our greatest weapons.

You have all my sympathies. Scint and I caught it back at the beginning of November. She's still dealing with joint pain and I'm still dealing with a persistent painful cough all these months later, though it's better now than it was in December. Long Covid is a bastard.

Ok. Here's the deal. I took two of my pain pills a little while ago (about an hour or so). No biggie. I've taken double before when needed. But I just took another because I bloody forgot I'd already taken them. Again, no biggie, it's just that I've not eaten anything today so they're on an empty stomach and the streets are still too icy in some spots to go get takeout. So, if I post anything weird, you'll know why.

Is that a prescription-only grade painkiller?
It is. And pretty strictly monitored by my pain doctor. One of the commercial names it's known by is "Norco". It's actually a mix of Hydrocodone, an opioid, and Acetaminophen (Tylenol, an over the counter painkiller). I take the medium dose, 7.5 mg of Hydrocodone and 325 mg of Acetaminophen. It's highly addictive but I'm pretty careful with them (today was a fluke, believe me).
It's really the only thing I've found that keeps my chronic pain issues in check. I did try to go without it a few years ago and tried something else but I ended up having to get back on it. The trouble with opioids is that over prolonged use it can actually start causing pain of its own as the body's pain receptors get all wonky. It's a tricky thing to balance, but so far so good.

LOL! I've not reached Hawkwind levels of weird in a very long time. Maybe I should try and...no, that's just a bad idea all around....LOL

Got the results back from the PCR COVID test I took on Sunday. Right as I was about to click the button to see them, I thought to myself, "What if the results come back as inconclusive?"
They came back inconclusive.
I am not making this up. I had never actually heard of anyone getting this result before. And bang. It's me.

Wow, that Pounce List must be getting awfully long now!
*laughing amusedly*
You will probably have to clone yourself to be able to pounce...everyone...
O.O

Yarrrr!
I've never played any edition of Twilight 2000. Ever. One of the guys who plays in my group is trying to get a group together in his hometown so he calls me to talk about the game, either forgetting I know nothing about the game or not caring that I don't know anything about it. One day when I felt really cruddy with COVID he called, asked how I was doing, then launched into a 40 minute recap of the game and how he kept screwing it up because he thought it would have been the same rules as the original game from the 1980s. I was polite and said lots of "Uh huh" and "Oh, ok" to him until he ran out of steam...lol
Also, during the 1980s a friend of mine was in Army intelligence stationed in eastern Europe. He said he played the game once and realized that all too well that what he was simulating could turn real in an instant and never played it again...lol
