Just how far down the rabbit hole of my weird interests do you really want me to go?

I play RPGs, and I work in construction, which I've found is pretty weird.

How do I know, well whenever I tell a co-worker my hobby they ask "what's an RPG? Rocket propelled grenade? How do you play with one of those?" "From a safe distance".

Needless to say, they were all super excited for Free RPG Day, until I told what RPG stood for.

You're right; sorry that I said sorry.

Life has been interfering with it for a while, but I was an active officer in a local foam weapon fantasy LARP for some time.

Converting nonRPG settings to use with game systems that have built in settings totally different in flavor. (Using the Stormbringer system for David Eddings' Belgariad world was my top one.)

Am I correct in thinking you never overeat then? I've often wished I could have my sense of taste surgically removed as I am VERY overweight.

Everything tastes like chicken, I assume.

Unfortunately it didn't help me with my first career choice, chef.

I think it's a connotation/denotation thing.

The nuance of language. It’s really cool that a thing can mean a dozen (or whatever) different things!

(Also annoying, but, eh.)

AAGGHH!!!!! I still want calamari!

If you eat anything with tentacles you will be damned before the great host of the GOD KING CTHULHU.

Gomphotheres

They're a diverse group of weird prehistoric elephant cousins, often with very unusual tusks.

You're right; sorry that I said sorry.

This like the scene in John Carpenter's The Thing where everyone secretly expects the blood test to reveal Andostre is the infiltrating Canadian, except surprise! -- its actually Freehold, who turns out to be Ryan Reynolds all along.

I was playing through FireRed again, just a few weeks ago, partly for nostalgia’s sake and partly because back in elementary school when Gameboys were cutting-edge, neither me nor my brother could find the path through Victory Road, and instead had to have a friend deposit us in front of the Indigo Plateau; and I kind of wanted to take a crack at the puzzle as a not-toddler. And wow they just don’t make Pokémon games like they used to.

My son, who is 25, bought the new "Pikachu, Let's Go!" game for his Nintendo Switch a couple of weeks ago. I am NOT a video or computer gamer. The controls confused me A LOT. But he bought the version with the Pokeball controller and now I'm playing it as well... lol. I'm currently trapped in Diglett's cave with no idea how to get out. But I've actually enjoyed playing it. He acts like he's 5 again instead of 25 over this game.. lol

Good news! Diglett's Cave is a pretty straight shot, unless they've changed the map. One exit is straight to the northwest, the other is straight to the southeast.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I checked the internet, and it seems that it’s unchanged from the Gen 3 version I was just playing; should be a pretty straight path from Pewter to Vermilion. If all else fails, does the game have escape rope? Or, if there’s room in your party, you could catch a diglet and use that . . .

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Thanks! I've yet to find a Diglet but am losing my mind because of all the zu-bats.

Shadow Lodge

Yeah there's something like that on every route, usually Zubat or Rattata, or Tentacool on water routes.

D:

They added fookin’ zubat to diglett’s cave? WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS THING?

Do you have a rattata? Some of them have a special ability lets them escape fights with zubats automatically, called (creatively) Run Away; playing through FireRed this time through I kept one at the front of my party whenever I went underground. MVP, most definitely.

They’re pretty strong at your level too; with a high speed and Hyper Fang it’s not hard to outspeed and one-shot. They fall off later, but that’s just how the game’s designed, different Pokémon are good at different levels.

Let's Go Pika/Eevee doesn't have Abilities. Or held items, so Smoke Bomb isn't an option either.

On the upside, no getting stuck in battles with Digletts due to Arena Trap....

Blue and Green. Yes most people have favorite colors but the concept is kinda weird when you think about it i.e if someone asked me why those colors are better than red or orange I couldn't really explain it.

Also a certain stock roar sound I've heard multiple places but the one I remember it from most is Serpentera from power rangers video here for those curious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IlapmSP13o I think it's the crescendo (I think that's the right word) at the end which does it for me.

I enjoy eating cheese after having eaten something chocolate. No idea why, no idea when I started doing it but I've been doing it for about as long as I can remember.
