Why do so many bloodline abilities for the Sorcerer class imply you will be fighting like a Martial instead of a Caster?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So many bloodlines offer claws, for instance. There are other things as well, but the claws bloodlines are the most notable examples I think.

For variety and prestige classes like Dragon Disciple and Eldritch Knight.

When your blood is mixed with that of a monster the first signs of it may include a dash of monstrosity. My best guess is that it's flavour like that rather than mechanics, two 1d4 claws aren't much better than just swinging a 1d8 morningstar or something at first level.
