Wilding Druid (With Archetype)

Rules Questions

I have something of a niche question. If I take a Druid Archetype that causes me to lose the Wild Empathy feature, but take the Wilding Feat to compensate, do I get the +3 bonus as I 'have levels in a class that grants Wild Empathy'?

(My apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, it seemed like the most appropriate place to ask.)

Wilding text, for reference:
Wilding
You were touched by nature at an early age and share a kinship with wild creatures. Your body might bear animalistic features, such as bestial ears or a tail, or your presence may be subtly unlike that of others.

Prerequisites: Any neutral alignment, must be taken at 1st level.

Benefit: You gain the druid’s wild empathy ability, using your character level as your druid level. If you have one or more levels in a class that grants wild empathy, you gain an additional +3 bonus on wild empathy checks. You are treated as an animal for the purpose of harmful mind-affecting effects that target animals (such as charm animal).

Special: A character who has this feat can select the Animal Soul or Aspect of the Beast feats without meeting the prerequisites.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

This is indeed the wrong place, this is the Pathfinder 2.0 Playtest forum, not the PF1 forum. I can, however, answer anyway.

By giving up Wild Empathy with the archetype you are, for all intents and purposes, no longer a "Class that grants Wild Empathy" (You are not just a Druid, you are an x Druid, with x being the archetype, and an x Druid is not a class that grants Wild Empathy). So you would not get the extra +3. But the feat would give you back the Wild Empathy feature which you lost, which is pretty cool.

Edge is correct. ^_^

Oh no, I'm sorry! I didn't realize this was a separate forum, as it was still within the 'Pathfinder' group.
Thank you for answering anyway, though! That's pretty much what I expected, but I still wanted to check, just in case.

Which is broken down into "Pathfinder Playtest", "Pathfinder RPG", and seven other groupings, each of which themselves are broken down further (and you have to end up on one of these leaves to be able to create a new post).

Admittedly the Playtest is at the top (because...reasons?), which has caused more than a handful of folks to end up in the wrong place.
