Interesting looking class

This is along the lines of what I was thinking when trying to figure what an alchemist would look like in starfinder. I also like that there is a class that can fully utilize those nifty injection weapons without having to deal with um does this actually do damage to friendly targets to try to heal them issue.

My team I feel will soon look like like a grumpy bunch of pin cushions.

We look forward to hearing about it!

After reading the whole write up I really need to try some builds out. I like the theorem options if you really want to be davy crocket with an injection weapon it looks like that's very doable. Things like the speed loading and accuracy bonuses go a long way to making injection weapons as a primary weapon type for a character viable.

I have been eyeballing those injection weapons for a character since starfinder launched but always seemed overly expensive or just hard to find a character who could get good use out of them.

Given how nasty diseases and poisons can be in starfinder having a class who looks like they should be pretty good at helping mitigate those effects should be handy when exploring new worlds.

While all the fields of study seem interesting in name. Not sure about in execution.

Further, there really needs to be a way to chemhulk out. Either temporarily or as a slow process(over levels) of muscle grafts, anabolics and growth hormones etc. Both options would be cool, although I prefer the second.

Maybe as a feat chain or as an archetype or prestige class if not directly from class abilities. Chem Warrior? Chem Hulk? Yes not holding my breath. But I can still dream. :)

Personal upgrades and biological cybernetics exist for increasing your "hulk" value as you level. We also have the serum of enhancement (commando). So we have a route to help with all of this. But it looks to me that we have room for more short duration bursts.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I was reading more closely the various fields of study and they all seem pretty decent. I think a lot are going to go with genetics though. Being able to inflict vulnerability of your choice on a target or strip immunities lower DR is pretty amazing. This is an excellent boss vaporiser type power where if you have a big nasty critter that needs killing.

Best used if your teammates are willing to all have one of a damage type weapon to exploit it when used. So everybody has a fire or cold or whatever weapon to really light up a target for a few rounds.

But most of them are really strong. Some are better for inflicting some nasty conditions others are better for augmenting your teammates. Like the one that at level 5 you can start hasting your friendly target AND buffing their move speed. At higher levels this thing turns your melee fighters into the freaking road runner.
