Can a Permanent prismatic sphere move with you?

Advice

I'm not sure i understand the point of being able to cast permanency/prismatic sphere on an object, if the spell is immobile, then is it just a tool for GM to guard dungeons or can i actually use it on one of my items and make it move with me?

No, you can’t. It’s useful as a safe place to retreat to in combat to heal/buff if being overwhelmed, the blindness might help, and a dumb enemy might even try to follow you inside.

It's good if you want to place an item inside to protect it.

It can't be placed on an object. The spell, if made permanent with Permanency, is placed on an area (by choosing a point of origin). The spells to made permanent are placed on objects or areas just as they normally would be except the Permanency now makes the duration permanent.

You could probably cast it on the deck of a ship or airship if you want to take it with you. It won't protect parts of the ship outside the spell of course.

Permanent Prismatic Sphere makes for a great door, an interesting way to spice up any pit trap, and a very emphatic way to say "I quit" as a royal wizard. Also a good test for any potential replacement.
