What are the three blue "arrows" on the back of the Vesk on the core book cover?

General Discussion

I've searched and searched and can't find anything about this. What are those blue glowing "arrow fletchings" that appear on the back of the Vesk on the cover (and in other places) of the SFRPG Core Book? It looks like they are projected from a device on the right shoulder of his armor.

Thanks for the help!

Her armor actually, the brightly colored Vesk are in fact the Females.
As to what the object is, probably just plain ole arrows for crossbolter or a bow.

I think that's starship weapons fire. The Vesk is obscuring either the source (if it's behind him) or the target (if it's originating from the big ship above him and shooting down below at something hidden).

I never considered that. It makes sense that they would have something like that given their propensity towards war.

It's very similar to Keskodai's holoprojector of a holy symbol - on his head.

What's odd is that sometimes Obozaya's official art shows it and sometimes it doesn't - using the same default graphic! (Separate layer on the drawing or easily edited out I guess). But, I suppose there's no reason she couldn't just turn it off for those pics.

Looking at the original image without the banner the "beams" are not coming from the ship at the top of the image. There is a large gap between the ship and the visual beginning of the "beam". So if it is weapons fire it is from something behind the Vesk. If it is a holo emitter that is a bit....plain.

I guess it is the holo emitter.

Retcon it to a Holographic Sashimono.

I always thought of them as scifi arrows.

There's some pics showing a shoulder mounted projector, on her back. I have to agree that this might be something like Samurai sashimono or back banners, and I can see (now that I read the background) that a vesk with strong martial ties would display arrows sticking out of the generator instead of some evil war face or something along those lines.
