Strange picture over everything on the forums

Website Feedback

I recently found a solution to the forums being too wide and clipping off the side of the of the screen, but now I see a mostly transparent image in front of everything on the site, though I can click on things (touch really, since I'm on a phone) behind the image.

Width Solution (I'll post this on my thread for the width issue)
Android seems to have a "zoom everything" setting on the settings page where you can change the system font and font size. My phone was set to about 20% zoom by default (I neber found the setting before so it couldn't have been me). Zooming out as far as possible and shrinking font a bit as well as changing the font and now I see the full width of the forum pages except when typing. Note; this solution is not perfect, as when I'm typing a new post the right side cuts off, and typing a new thread, both sides cut off. In neither case is enough lost to inhibit anything, but it still is page sides being cut off. In the case of making a new thread the title bars didn't go all the way to the right, almost like titlebars had shifted to left off screen more than the amount of right edge that is off screen.

The Image
The image is mostly transparent and stuck to the bottom right of the screen, not the page.

The image shows a cliff on the right and a couple characters (the rogue and wizard) climbing a ladder with a sword being held in a hand in the foreground, all in Paizo's visual cartoony style.

I am also experiencing this issue and it is driving me bonkers. It's horrifying to see the "watermark" image. I'm using Safari on an iPhone 7 Plus.

It simply appeared after I loaded a new topic page, not having been there before.

While on my iPad, with the bookmark bar on the left side of the screen, which is how I usually use it, I'm seeing it (the image/transparent watermark) at the upper left corner, though it is covering almost half the page...If I go full screen, the image disappears.

Why is it appearing - when are we supposed to see it, or what is its purpose?

It just appeared for me too, really distracting. :s

It’s a watermark image. I find it only shows up on my Apple products, not my PC. Yes, deeply annoying.

You say that like we are supposed to understand why there might be a watermark image.

I am using a Kindle Fire, and I see the watermark. I dislike it. I want it to go away.

I'm on a Samsung Sleight 7 and have the same issue. I seem to be on the mobile version of the site. If you turn a mobile screen sideways, you can see a part of the picture. On a larger screen, it becomes more visible (and annoying).

Paizo, please simply remove this background picture. We don't want it on phones, sleights, computers, or any other device.

This image is the backdrop for the main menu on the mobile skin of the site. There is an error in the CSS causing it to be displayed in the background any time the render width is below 992 px. The nature of the problem means it likely affects all browsers. The front-end team is looking into it.

We apologize for the disruption to enjoyably browsing the site.

It seems to be gone now. Thanks for fixing it.

Thanks for the report. It does seem fixed now.

Liberty's Edge

Yay! It's gone! Thanks to everyone!
