Shadow Grasp Spell

Rules Questions

Does Shadow Grasp Spell Stack?

I mean if you cast 2 spell both with shadow grasp in the same area does the opponent has to roll twice in saving throw, like one for each spell?

Stacking isn't the correct term, but I don't see any reason you wouldn't apply the effects of both spells (including the Shadow Grasp entangle) if they are in the area of two spells.

Each spell has it's own effect, and doesn't generally care about whether another spell effect is in the same area or not.

the areas of effect(AoE) overlap (or intersect).
Each is treated independently although sometimes there is an interaction (such as where AoE of light and darkness overlap).
If it was two fireballs you'd roll for each. Same goes for two entangles, two walls of fire, two black tentacles... etc or some classic combos cast with the same point of origin like Stinking cloud and Black tentacles.
While Shadow Grasp is a metamagic feat;
Effects of Metamagic Feats on a Spell: In all ways, a metamagic spell operates at its original spell level, even though it is prepared and cast using a higher-level spell slot. Saving throw modifications are not changed unless stated otherwise in the feat description.
The modifications made by these feats only apply to spells cast directly by the feat user. A spellcaster can’t use a metamagic feat to alter a spell being cast from a wand, scroll, or other device.
Metamagic feats that eliminate components of a spell don’t eliminate the attack of opportunity provoked by casting a spell while threatened. Casting a spell modified by Quicken Spell does not provoke an attack of opportunity. and
Multiple Metamagic Feats on a Spell: A spellcaster can apply multiple metamagic feats to a single spell. Changes to its level are cumulative. You can’t apply the same metamagic feat more than once to a single spell.
as these are two spells and two castings, each can have the same or different metamagics applied.

advice: Dust of Twilight with Persistent.

I'm not sure about two entangle spells, as the spells both manipulate the same plant life to do their entangling. If the spell simply dropped a "creatures in here save or become entangled" field without involving the environment, it'd definitely work like the other examples. Alternately, maybe there's enough plant life to support multiple castings, or the caster uses an evergreen seed pouch to produce more plant life.

The rules don't care.

If it helps though, you can think of it as each spell either a) animating different particular plants or parts of plants or b) giving the plants the equivalent of a grabbing action (not talking mechanics, that is the save vs. spell but flavor) so plants subjected to multiple entangle spells would writhe around more.

The area would just be difficult terrain though, there isn't any such thing as double difficult terrain, so that part of the spell wouldn't 'stack'.

The game requires some GM sensibility but it is a spell effect with grabby plants as a visible effect. So you are in home rules area doing something other than two AoE.
Advice: Just be consistent and if you do decide to only have one AoE I'd up the DC by two in the intersection (taking a que from poison rules). There will be other consequence to such a ruling.

ok thank you very much :D
