Having Trouble introducing new PC

Advice

Hello Paizo/Pathfinder Community

I am having trouble finding a way to seamlessly introduce a new PC following the death of my previous PC. Normally it wouldn't really be an issue at all if we were just starting a new AP, but we're 4 and a half books into one which can make it a little more tricky.

What have you, or someone you know, done to introduce new characters mid-AP?

I had a GM who always found an interesting way to introduce new characters, sometimes with humorous results.

Once a character was established as having been an ex of the npc paladin. He was mounted and rode towards us in a rom-com sort of way:
PC: "Carmen!"
NPC: "Eric!"

Cue slow motion galloping... until he happened to ride over a trapdoor spider. It attacked and killed his mount.

Another time a new PC was captured and about to be sacrificed by evil cultists. He barely escaped, covered in flammable oil... right by the PC fire mage who was a pyromaniac and had a low wisdom (and thus no willpower). He rolled, failed to check his impulses, and set the PC on fire. He lived, tho.

Lastly, another new PC was tied up in a room in an area we were exploring. The GM thought that we would rescue him and take him with us. We walked right by the room and left him there. At least that time we didn't accidentally kill him... which we did do the other time he tried the same trick...

Long story short, he always found ways that didn't seem contrived, but they didn't always work as planned.

OH MY!!! These are gold

Or, you could go this route. :-D

It really depends on the AP. Have you talked to your GM about what you have in mind for a character and asked if they have a good way to introduce them?
Usually it's much easier for the GM to find a way as they know what's likely to be happening next.

Playing Shattered Star AP, DM has put me to the task of finding a good way to introduce my character. He is going to screen anything I am thinking about doing.

That seems... odd.

When I GM I'd always want to work with the player a coming up with a way to introduce a new character. Once you've decided what you want to play (at least the race) you should ask the GM if there's something in the AP that would be a good way to introduce the character.

Or, to go with The Gamers idea, have it be a "teleportation accident" and you don't know what happened to the wizard that was supposed to be travelling with you.

Party wizard: "I cast 'Summon Minion'."

New PC: "Here I am!"
