A simple dungeon crawl

Recruitment

1 to 50 of 53 << first < prev | 1 | 2 | next > last >>

pain momentarily fills your mind, forcing you to awaken from your blacked out state. you shift and moan, a new level of pain filling your mind before, as fast as it arrived, the pain vanishes. You blink away the tears that had formed, and look about, wondering where the hell you are.
you have awoken i see a voice says with a heavy undertone, like satin sliding over silk. you glance about, fearing that the movement will cause the pain to return, but instead you see that you are in a large room with several others.
it is at this moment you realize that you are naked. Naked, and chained to the floor. a chill flares up along your spine, causing you to shake. The similar sensation must have happened to the others, because the chains of others rattle and shake as well.
come now. sit up. Sit up! the voice says, chiding.
You sit up and see the source of the voice. A human skull wreathed in blue flame, floating in the air. behind it, a massive wood door bound with iron bands stands vigilant, protecting the entry from unwanted passers. Angry red and yellow glyphs and runes, carved and etched upon the iron, glow from wrought magical energies, bathing the entry in said reds and yellows.
Ah good. now, let's begin the voice says from the floating skull. a flare up of blue light spreads out in a narrow cone, resolving into the form of a middle aged human male.
All of you have been "chosen" to participate in this study. the voice chuckles at its own humor. The premise is simple. Survive this dungeon. There have been many other attempts before you. I hope that you have more luck than your predecessors.

a loud clank comes from behind you. you turn quickly and see a small, unassuming door swing slightly ajar. a sliver of absolute black can be seen beyond the door and door frame.

next to the door, on either side, stand several shelves filled with all manner of items. Rope, armor, swords, bows, bags, bedrolls, and more. everything a cunning (or unlucky) adventurer (prisoner) would need to explore (escape).

a simple adventure to try.

pathfinder rules
1st level
max HPs

stats: roll 4d6 drop the lowest, reroll 1s.

core classes only please! archetypes allowed to make it easier for me, please only create PCs based only off of the core classes for now.

core races only please

starting equipment use the max amount of gold for purchasing your equipment. But please note you will only have access to 60% of you purchased equipment at the start of this adventure. This is to show that others have come before you and may have grabbed items that were found on you at the time of your abduction. You will find your other items later in the adventure, you just have to be on the look out for them.

Um, yes please. Dotting and starting a character build. Cool concept, reminds me of the dungeon crawls from Warcraft III.

I'm going to roll a bard.

Rolls:

Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 1) = 9
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 2, 3) = 13
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 1) = 7
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 4, 5) = 15
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 4, 6) = 18
Stats: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 1, 6) = 16

Rerolls

Stats: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
Stats: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
Stats: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Stats: 1d6 ⇒ 3

wow
Stats: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
OKAY YOU DO IT

I'm interested but wondering about size of the adventure. Similar to module length?

Stats:

stats 1: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 2, 5) = 10
stats 2: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6, 3) = 18
stats 3: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 3) = 13
stats 4: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 1, 1) = 12
stats 5: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 4) = 22
stats 6: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 6) = 18

stats reroll 1: 1d6 ⇒ 6
stats reroll 3: 1d6 ⇒ 6
stats reroll 4: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12

Ending up with 13. 15. 15. 18. 18. 16. Noice!

I believe with that array of good stats I will attempt a Monk. :)

Sczarni

11 4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 2) = 13

14 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 6, 4) = 16

18 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 6) = 21

13 4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 4) = 17

13 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 2, 1) = 12 1d6 ⇒ 4

15 4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 1, 6) = 16 1d6 ⇒ 3

Hmm...very quality stats...I will have to think about this...

Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 4) = 13
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3, 4) = 10 Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 5) = 15 Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 3) = 14
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 3) = 14 Reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 2) = 11

11
9
13
16
11
11
uhggg

4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 1, 5) = 16 Reroll 1d6 ⇒ 3
4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 2) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 1) = 9 Reroll 1d6 ⇒ 4
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 3) = 20
4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 4) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 5, 1) = 14

So...

15, 10, 10, 17, 12, 13,

I'll see what I can do...

Dark Archive

Dot for interest, I'll put up my rolls before deciding my class/race:

Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 5) = 19: 16

Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 6) = 15:reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 3 15

Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 2, 5) = 16: 12

Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 2) = 14: 15

Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 4) = 16: 12

Stat: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 3, 6) = 21: 16

So: 12,12,15,15,16,16

This opens alot for me, I may actually make a Halfling monk with this- just for fun of course ;P

Rightio, William here, this is the alias I'm gonna use: I'm making a Halfling Juggler Bard- my focus gonna be on group buffing and ranged attacks.

yes, its a module...a rather large one.

Dotting.

Stat 1: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 2, 5) = 12reroll: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5, 5) = 17
Stat 2: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 2) = 13

Stat 5: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 4) = 16

I've a Ranger or a Wizard build I can use.

Going Halfling Cleric

Can I use campaign traits from other modules? I am looking for frontier healer trait from Ironfang Invasion from the player guide.

You know, it might be pretty commical if we had a party consisting of only dwarves, Gnomes, and halflings. Have the short folk dominate the dungeon, Muahahaha- unfortunately we wouldn't be able to usr most items as about 75% of everything is made for medium sized creatures

that would be funny. but very unique and i think itd be enjoyable as well.

Can I use campaign traits from other modules/adventure path like Ironfang Invasion, Wrath of the Righteous, etc? I am looking to use a trait that amplify my character's cure spells.

one background trait allowed, as long as you post a link to it on your character sheet from the pathfinder srd website.

Grand Lodge

There is a link above AGamer70 post regarding the trait (frontier healer) I want. It is not in the srd website. Is that OK?

He follows his own code of professional behavior, which he outlines while negotiating for a job. He has no family left to speak of, and doesn't really have roots anywhere, so it is unlikely that anyone will notice that he's gone missing.

He follows Gorum, and loves few things more than a good scrap. He is polite and easygoing, but reserved, preferring not to talk much about himself or his background.

1 trait.

a little background is fine.

Traits linked from here OK?

ok lets see what the fates produce:

stat 1: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 2) = 9 = 9

stat 6 reroll 2 1's: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7

not bad really

final results: 18, 17, 16, 13, 11, 09

Alrighty oh, I'm all done, Character made, equipment bought, and stats stated up, only thing I have to do is write a background,

Also, I wanted to ask, are you allowing Background Skills, or not?

Quick dot and stats.

Stats:

4d6 - 2 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 2) - 2 = 14
4d6 - 3 ⇒ (5, 3, 4, 4) - 3 = 13
4d6 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (3, 4, 1, 1) - 1 - 1 = 7 +2d6 + 7 - 3 ⇒ (3, 5) + 7 - 3 = 12
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 3) - 1 = 9 +1d6 + 9 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 9 - 2 = 12
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 2) - 2 = 17
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 4) - 2 = 11

11,12,12,13,14,17
Pretty crummy set of stats XD
It looks like I will have to build some sort of Min-Maxed character with those stats...
Hmmmmm....

Stats:

1: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 5, 1) = 10 reroll: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8
2: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 3) = 13
3: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 3) = 9
4: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6, 6) = 17 reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 2
5: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 6) = 15 reroll: 1d6 ⇒ 3
6: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 2) = 14

Stats:13, 11, 7, 16, 15, 13

Hummm, I could play something with those stats. I also do love me some core only games. I’ll get something up for a character shortly. Do you have a compiled list of already build characters so I don’t double up on something already?

Ok: I have something built out on my profile. Human Arcane Bloodline Sorcerer. Its all under my name.

ok to kind of keep with the small character ideas working on a foul mouthed halfling barbarian (titan Mauler) that like to chop and burn things.

@Rizzenmagnus I know you said core only so I wanted to ask a question. I am interested in having this Sorcerer be older for flavor sake. Do you require the age effects for a character to be older, or are you ok with older characters for the sake of flavor?

Thanks in advance!

Yas392 wrote:
Traits linked from here OK?

sure. no problem

older for flavors sake is cool. since youre 1st level id say that your character hasnt really done much with his life to push the advantage/disadvantage of stats in either way.

RIZZENMAGNUS wrote:

Sounds great! I figured the same when it came to him being older and only level 1. His spells kind of show more of a utility approach instead of a pure blaster. Those seems more like the adventuring type.

I changed up his skills just a hair and picked up the Trustworthy trait. I figured it would be good to have an older gentleman who likes to talk to all of those around him, why wouldn’t he be trustworthy...

I also changed from animal companion to a bonded item (ring) with the Arcana Bloodline. I figured it might be easier to keep a hold of things instead of trying to fiddle with a pet.

@Rizzenmagnus I didn’t see a deadline for applications. Do you have an expected start date?

Here is my cleric.
