Need help with pricing an auto-cocking repeating crossbow

Homebrew and House Rules

Hey guys i need help pricing a unique magical repeating crossbow with the following description and abilities:

Shield-Waller's Friend
:This +1 Light Repeating Crossbow has been slightly animated. While it isn't at all self mobile or capable of independent action it can cock itself automatically, immediately readying the next shot. This allows the user to fire and cock the weapon normally in one hand without the need of his other hand so long as there are bolts in the magazine, which must still be loaded manually:

So thats it. Not very complicated but aside from the base +1 light repeating crossbow price of 2,550, i have no idea what this weapon would be worth. So can you guys help me out?

Check out the Shadowshooting special ability.

I'd say call it a +2,000gp effect: That mimics what it would cost were it a +1 effect being applied to a virgin nonmagical weapon, without mucking up PC weapon upgrading progression. (You know, if you could apply a +1 effect without the obligatory +1 bonus. Pedantry and all that.)

My guideline with developing unique magic weapons is that actual +X bonus effects should feel special and cool. A self-cocking effect is certainly useful, but doesn't feel special or cool enough to warrant the +1 bonus. YMMV, of course.

Thanks but that doesn't do what i need. Its basically a cheaper version of Endless Ammo. You would still need 2 hands to operate a +1 Shadowshooting Light Crossbow, it would just never run out of shots.

This sounds more than fair, thanks.

Anybody disagree?

Nah, you wouldn't need two hands. You can shoot a light crossbow with one hand, at a -2 penalty.

If you want to avoid the -2 penalty, you could try two Shadowshooting Hand Crossbows, or one Shadowshooting Wrist Launcher (coupled with any other x-bow).

Honestly, this should already be a function of the Repeating Crossbow, so I see no problem with it being cheap.

No, you can fire a repeating crossbow one-handed ONCE, then you need to you your other hand to chamber the next round. Like the core-book description says:

"You can fire a repeating crossbow with one hand or fire a
repeating crossbow in each hand in the same manner as you
would a normal crossbow of the same size. However, you must
fire the weapon with TWO HANDS in order to use the RELOADING
LEVER, and you must use two hands to load a new case of bolts."

Its just like using a pepperbox pistol, but not like a revolver. The shadow ammo does not cock the weapon for you, that why im homebrewing this and asking for pricing advice.

Im not saying Shadowshooting or Endless Ammo wouldn't be useful as additional enchantments later, but as i want to use this magic weapon with a tower shield i need the feature i described when i started this.

Some were between 150-350gp sounds fair have it be a weapon modification instead of an enchantment.

A Light Repeating Crossbow can still be fired with one hand, just as a Light Crossbow.

If you add the Shadowshooting quality to a Light Crossbow, you can shoot indefinitely even with a Tower Shield.

If you added Shadowshooting to a (light) Repeating Crossbow it would in all ways works like the standard Light Crossbow.
